Jay Kay
I've tried a search to avoid wasting people's time but drawn a blank, so, has anyone bought and changed the cover to the storage chubby abover the radio? I've seen a car I like but around the push button area it's pretty scratched up. Is it an easy job or expensive part? Thanks in advance
Wizza2000
You know what mate i was looking at mine today and thinking same thing Might wallpaper mine they must make some sort of stick on kit for the dash i reckon,
ZEUS
Paint it , wrap it or have it dipped
Jay Kay
I had thought that (not wallpapering!) But it's textured and wasnt sure how much work is involved in getting it flat enough to paint or wrap it. Or even how to get the bugger off
SHEZZA
Yep was gonna say get them dipped. Here's a link to some interior bitsthat were recently sold. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/97802-hydrodipped-carbon-goodies/page__hl__dipped
Jay Kay
Looks a good job but I'm more for the stock look really. Not sure that you can still buy them from Nissan? Guess you probably can but I sespect they cost more than you would expect
Wizza2000
Blimey that looks a great job really impressed with that finish from photos. I'm also after stock, so looks like the usual suspects - scrap yards or ebay for second hand parts

Jay Kay
Think I saw your build thread on that, looking good! Is it ease to get the chubby cover off then or a bit of a faff?
Juggalo
I used Plastidip on mine and it's an exact OEM match. Even my brother who is the most critical OCD perfectionist didn't spot it. I used Satin black cellulose first, but it looked crap. So opted for matt black plastidip. However, you can find the covers mostly in the USA on ebay. I've rarely seen them on the UK one. Expensive for what they are.

Tinyflier
Think I saw your build thread on that, looking good! Is it ease to get the chubby cover off then or a bit of a faff? Pretty straightforward although you can sparay in situ if you mask off ALL the nearby areas properly! Simply remove the centre console (there are multiple threads here on how to do that) and you have complete acesss to the securing screws for the cubby. Remove that and it is a doddle to take the door off. David Edited July 17, 2015 by Tinyflier
