However I need to do something about the driver seat airbag and the curtain airbag. I guess I'll need a new seat? Or can the airbag component be replaced? What about the curtain airbag? What do you suggest? My friend is covering the cost of the reparations but I'm not going to take the pee and get him to buy stuff that would cost more than a direct replacement. GT4 Zed Posted July 12, 2015 Share Posted July 12, 2015 All the airbags are modular replaceable items except the seat airbags that are incorporated in the seat. You can probably get them separately but the issue will be to sow them back in with the right kind of stitches that will give way when the bag deploys. I may be overthinking it but ask the guys of "hide n seat" who trim seats as they will know what is required. You will also need the air bag central computer if everything was deployed. I have both curtain air bags and the airbag computer for sale from my track stripped zed. See my FS thread. They air the only bits left as the steering and passenger airbags have sold since. Adrian@TORQEN Posted July 12, 2015 Share Posted July 12, 2015 You need to replace the airbag and the stitching needs to be done in a proper way in case the airbag in the seat needs to deploy again.
