GriffGTV
Hi - I had forgotten about the 350z recently and had been hankering after a top Busso GTV, however they are increasingly becoming poor value for money, whereas th 350 appears to offer more performance / £ and a more recent bodyshell, so hopefully no rust problems? Soooo many questions - not sure if this is the right forum section so will keep it to a few to kick off with: What expensive problems are ther to watch out for that occur more often than they should? - Is the ticking tappet syndrome commonplace - is it cured with 07 HR? What are the differences in models prior to the comp updated 07+ HR? (please incl as much detail as poss, eg interior trim design) Does the HR fix all regular woes? I am not sure if i have the patience to keep saving for an HR, unless it really is night and day - convince me! - I hear it can be tuned to over 400 bhp, what are the least expensive big power upgades? - Not into forced induction expense, and I imagine cams are prohibitively expensive, so presumably that just leaves optimising breathing and de-compromising the universal ECU Map? - 313 becomes 340 max? Love the sound of the Nismo S exhaust on youtube - would be aiming at similar sound, at lower volume and ideally having quad DTM ends - so potentially a reproduction of an Indi copy a member may be able to put me in touch with Can a re-map on the HR vary the cam timing or whatever to give a more 'cammy' (turbo boost sensation) inplace of the smooth linear oe map? - I would like a more dramatic step in power in mid rev band How good is the B road ride and tyre noise when cruising along (ie engine noise muted) - are any models better than others? Does wheel and tyre spec make much difference? - Is there room to higher the profile normally fitted to the 18" Ray wheel option, - I am willing to trade outright handling for better comfort (..an age thing..) Out of curiosity, has anyone fitted a sensible cost multi throttle body inj system - eg ex bike throttle bodies? Who are the favoured insurance companies for modded Zs for more mature driver? Ok, enough already! thx for any help ps any local meets, specialists or owners near Kettering Northants?

Gearbox have syncro issues, Bushes go and get very noise but that's just a serviceable item, some people get whats called a clickly axle What are the differences in models prior to the comp updated 07+ HR? Everyone says go HR cant argue with that. but on the track at japfest i wouldnt say any of the HR boys had a real advantage over the DE over a 20min session maybe if it was a 24hr you could see the difference performance wise Love the sound of the Nismo S exhaust on youtube - would be aiming at similar sound, at lower volume and ideally having quad DTM ends - so potentially a reproduction of an Indi copy a member may be able to put me in touch with try listening to a motordyne Can a re-map on the HR vary the cam timing or whatever to give a more 'cammy' (turbo boost sensation) inplace of the smooth linear oe map? - I would like a more dramatic step in power in mid rev band No idea as im DE How good is the B road ride and tyre noise when cruising along (ie engine noise muted) - are any models better than others? GriffGTV
..the eyelids available, which I really favour for headlight shape - can they be fitted to all headlight specs without adversely affecting beam in UK - they cover a large area (the area where h light encroaches into bonnet) - These giva sort of Sagaris / GTR h light shape, which to me is far more modern - the headlights are one of the few visual elements that lacks cohesion with rest of car design IMHO - any aux driving lights successfully integrated into bumper, particularly LED - like to have as much light as possible and if reducing oe h light effectiveness, they might be necessary

kbad
Hello and welcome , I am saving too and hope to do the deed in a couple of months - currently my budget is 6k hoping to get a near enough standard car. I was given a ride at my local car wash y a fellow who had a 350z 313 I ended up selling my mx asap as I felt so feeble after I got back into it back at the car wash . I am keeping my eye and ears open t what to lookout for while buying. which is the better option fairlady gt grey import (appears cheaper) or a uk GT model
GriffGTV
So you were that impressed with the HR? - What are you comparing it to? - What did you think to ride comfort & tyre noise? ..decisions...decisions.., my savings are at a point where it will take some time yet before i can afford an HR and wondering if to go for a 297 in the interim - concerned about the cam bucket issue (which hopefully was rectified with HR?) or any other major cost item Quote MultiQuote Edit
