mrkieran23
Hi guys, i know this has been covered, i have read some posts on here but thought i would start a new one to get a 2015 answer opposed to a 2013 and being old. I have a 54 Zed, from what i can gather, the cars has no option to turn off the passenger air bag off but i see people mention removing a fuse. Now i have a family car and the kid sits back seat in that but i want to be able to put him in the Zed if my other car is ever down. I know the seats go pretty far back n its not like i would be speeding anyway. So my question.... The fuse. Does removing the fuse disable all airbags or is each bag on its own fuse? Grundy
Because fuses changed on an 04 model from 2013 to 2015. http://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/24116-baby-seat-in-a-350z.html http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/39825-350z-and-baby-seats-answer/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/34288-car-seat-can-be-done/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68967-forward-facing-child-seat-in-a-350z-anyone-have-one/ https://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&rlz=1C1CHWA_enGB604GB605&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=Baby%20seat%20350z&oq=Baby%20seat%20350z&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.3405j0j7 Edited June 29, 2015 by grundy225
AliveBoy
Wouldn't recommend it, what if you crash and the insurance company see you put a child in a car which specifically warns against it in the manual? Or if they see you intentionally disabling part of the airbag system which is an MOT requirement? Yes you can disable the front one, but what about the curtain and seat airbags? As my Dad always said to me "you might drive like an angel *cough* *cough*, it's the other people crashing into you which is the worry!" Personally I wouldn't bother, but it's up to you. and apologies if I sound all preachy and pretentious, not my intention
mrkieran23
lol don't worry dude, you don't, its only an emergency thing. Im sure i can put him in a front facing car seat when he is 9kg.. i think thats fine in the Zeds.
GeorgeW
I have been wondering the same thing, the manuel says you can have a switch installed to turn off the airbag - so I'm guessing I'm not getting the baby in the zed for now then..
