jkyb
Hi guys, The bolts holding in the heat shield have corroded on my 2003 350, leaving it to hang and rattle against the exhaust. I have a Cobra system fitted, do I need to remove the back box before being able to take out the heat shield? Or will it slide out? I've read that it should be OK to take it out (as opposed to welding or bolting it back in). Any advice is appreciated.. Cheers
Adz
The same happened to mine. You can remove it without taking the exhaust off, it just needs a bit of persuasion and bending bits of the heat shield to get past certain areas. To remove the backbox you only need to remove 2 bolts and slip it off the hangers, so just as easy to do that rather than struggle with it in the way
