coyoteboy
Bit of weird one, wondering if anyone else had it... Changed plugs today (80k miles), noted one was a little loose and one intake hose had a jubilee clip loose. Anyway, popped it all back, checked all hoses, cleaned throttle bodies with carb cleaner and a rag (some crankcase oil vapor deposits, not much) and fired it up. All seemed well initially but noticed it was really obvious when off throttle there was a kick and tipping into the throttle really bucked the engine. Drive round a bit and return home to inspect. No obvious hose or connection leaks. Idling at 975rm, 1200 with AC on. Turn it off and make a cuppa, head out and fire it up again - back to normal. Is this normal?! Any idea of cause? No fault codes logged, no other symptoms.
Tricky-Ricky
Did you by any chance disconnect the battery? this would initiate idle air relearn, its also possible that if you cleaned the throttle bodies you moved the butterfly which would also initiate TPS relearn. coyoteboy
Hmm didn't unplug battery but definitely disconnected electrically and moved the throttle blades. Interesting. Didn't expect it to have to relearn the zero point of the tps! Edited June 13, 2015 by coyoteboy
