Well me and the wife found out we were having a baby so for most people they would just through down the tools and decide that’s the project never going to happen now. Me on the other hand saw it as a challenge to get the car finished before the baby is here...haha Congratulations on the news!! Trying to get an engine build done before a baby arrives...............who would do a thing like that!! Looking at the size of that Garrett, your plans for 400-450hp have gone out the window!? ZeppoJeff
Well well well i really do leave these updates few and far between. Since my last update the engine did get built and the baby arrived the same week Here's some pics of the progress seeing as people love pictures. Got to use my friends office in his garage which was handy i must say Started off my getting everything masked off so i never scratched the freshly skimmed head when lapping the valves or painted stuff not meaning to be painted. Some cleaning was in order to get these valves back to the best they could be before the lapping of valves began Some new uprated HKS valve springs. Not that they needed replaced but it was one of those while im in there i best just replace them situations Some nice new Tomei type B poncams got installed which should be enough for the drive ability and power i shall be running Then onto getting everything cleaned up in the block starting off with the oil squirters Freshly balanced crank got installed with ACL race bearings and ARP main studs Wossner pistons and PEC rods ARP headstuds installed along with a Tomei oil restrictor to stop all the oil going straight to the head which can be an issue with these engines With the rb26 using such old technology of coils it was time to upgrade to some r35 coils and platinum racing products coil bracket kit which consists of the bracket and proper stalks for the coils so the spark plug wells actually seal. You'll never see if but its pretty haha Some superforma goodies getting installed so i can remote mount the filter and help drain the oil out the head and back to the sump, along with the platinum racing products trigger kit. Then to finish it all off this tomei head gasket to accommodate for the amount the head and block had to be skimmed Finished off with a ATI harmonic balancer and here with have the finished article. Now to just get it to fit and working in the zed. Heaps ive missed out but my head being up my bottom at the moment i cant remember much...haha Next job involves custom sump then onto stripping the whole underneath for powdercoating, polybushing and undersealing. Wish me luck Edited September 19, 2019 by ZeppoJeff

TT350
This is fantastic mate! Can I ask, how much it's cost and how much more you'll probably have to spend? Is there a way to make use of the skyline's 4wd? Will you use your Skyline's gearbox? For me, that would make a real difference as traction in a 450+ bhp Z really is non existent in 1st and 2nd and a lot of 3rd, with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Im always changing my mind as has probably been noticed on the forum but, I WILL pick one and follow it through. I'd love to do this as a project. It's something I could do over a couple of years. I could maybe do a 25DET or 1JZ. I know the 1JZ is particularly tough. I've seen 1JZ's stock internals with 750bhp, all boost. I'll keep following this thread. Just keeps changing at every angle. I'm guessing this is House Of Kolor Burple? Lovely colour. I always like HOK Kobalt Blue.

Now you’re asking mate...to much money been thrown at it and still plenty to spend on it. i think if you were going to utilise the the and system of the rb26 there would be some mad modifications made due to there I barely enough room for the engine and you would need a custom subframe to hold everything. Gearbox I’m using the cd009 as it strong but having to get mine modified and welded with a rb26 bellhousing. It’s the best way then I can use any clutch configuration I want. Old VQ got taken out and sold to Clark motorsports and now Chris at tarmac own it. Test fitted the rb26 and it fits...woop woop Now the engine has been stripped and sent away to the machinist to get some work before the forged rebuild starts. I know every one loves photos so here’s some to sink your teeth into until the next wee update. That's a bloody big turbskie!
