nissanman312
Hi guys I want to run evans fluid in my charge cooler system on my stillen kit simple enough to flush and fill again The engine side of things I asume are a little more complex? ? With the evans fluid you have to run a flush with they're engine flush to remove any residual water based products What I'm asking is what's the correct procedure and is there any sort of guide I can follow Also is there a Haynes manual for 370z Thanks in advance guys Edited May 24, 2015 by nissanman312
GT4 Zed
Hey Nic, I looked into this way back but didn't want to risk due to the combustible nature of Evans fluid and more so my cooling system is very good on track with the larger radiator, upgrade fans, higher performance motul coolant and coupled with oil cooler and larger oil capacity I've had no issues. I think the selling point of Evans is the resistance to boiling and air locks. Water is a better coolant by far and you can abolish air locks with a breather system. So don't know how Evans will work for an air to water intercooler. Do some searches. I think you are best to go with a bigger intercooler like frozen boost you were looking into and higher performance coolant like motul inugel. Otherwise it looks like it's a simple case of draining the system, filling it with the flush and the fill up with Evans. I guess you can flush twice to be sure😄

GT4 Zed
 I'm sure it's not a big deal. We run fuel into the engine and huge petrol tanks and it doesn't go boom loads of race cars on it too. Just not sure about the use in an intercooler.
nissanman312
Thred revival time lol I'm thinking of trying this Evans fluid again As since I've moved my oil cooler back and put the big frozenboost in the frontline of air flow then engine temps is reaching 100+ in slow moving traffic It's fine on the move high 80s I've a few freinds running it in there gtrs and say no matter how hard they push the car it dosnt exceed 90 degree's so figure it's worth a shot

Bodyboarder81
No .... But I'm going to , as I'm sure it will help keep the temp a bit more in control .

Richf
I wouldnt touch it personally 1) It burns 2) Water is a better coolant 3) its very slippery and banned from many race tracks http://www.oilem.com/potential-issues-with-waterless-engine-coolants/
