Pritchard
Hi guys, I am wondering what the weight of the OEM leather heated seats are in the Z. They have electric motors, airbags, heater elements and comfy soft stuff so they must be weighty. I have searched around, but all i find is people quoting random numbers between 19kg and 35kg a seat, without any reference to where they are finding these numbers. Does anyone have a seat in the garage they could weight for me please? I'm looking at getting some bucket seats, and was thinking of taking this time to possible save some weight. Cheers Pritchard

Wasso
Drivers seat is just under 50Ibs, passenger seat less as it only has one electric motor.
Payco
Ian to the rescue. Don't take your seats out and weigh them, pm Wasso..
Pritchard
cheers Wasso. was that with or without the rails? Sounds pretty light for what it is. alot of Cobras are advertised as 'lightweight' at 17kg.
Wasso
Not sure but you can find most 350z part weights in this thread..... http://my350z.com/forum/exterior-and-interior/416242-z-part-weights-with-pictures-4.html I'm sure there's another one very similar on there. This is how I worked out the loss of 66kg when I was doing my weight loss exercise!
Pritchard
oh i see, so this is again an estimate. this is why i wanted a set on the scales, because this is now another different figure from the US side. i dont see how those muppets can get the figures so different between each State. i guess i'll just go unbolt my own then

fake ben taylor
FWIW not including rails bimarco futuras are only 8.2kg 17kg seems very heavy for a bucket seat?
Jetpilot
Sounds pretty light for what it is. alot of Cobras are advertised as 'lightweight' at 17kg. Is that a fixed back or recliner? Not a bad weight if they are recliners. I had some kevlar Recaros in my Rx7 and they were 3.2kg, the more you want to spend the lighter they will get https://www.recaro-automotive.com/en/product-areas/aftermarket-seats/products/recaro-pole-position-abe-pole-position-carbon-abe.html
fake ben taylor
Ah no, fixed backs. At £225 delivered, fia approved and built for the larger gentleman the futuras are ace. Used to have a recaro profi spg but my hips didn't fit in it very well
Wasso
To be honest 50Ibs for the driver seat is about right to be totally honest.
