I take it you have worked out the cost of insurance, servicing, repairs etc in addition to your finance payments? From memory the Z wasn't expensive to run, but wasn't cheap. I decided to save and bought a Zed I could afford and I'm 100% glad I did! I bought mine from tradelink cars also, know you said you couldn't find much but there always getting cars In and Greg is a good guy! p34nut Posted April 18, 2015 Author Share Posted April 18, 2015 Ok people, I appriciate the input but I have to just clear a few things up here as things are going off topic a little. When posting the topic I asked for help in regards to if you know where I could look for a car that fits the criteria I stated. I fully understand what it costs to run and maintain a performance car as I have owned the keys to an r33 gtst, 2x newage wrx's, s2000, mr2 tubby, 2x ep3's along with a few run around's. Getting married was a huge hit in the bank balance and left me without a car to make sure everything was paid for. I'm in need of a car sooner rather than later so waiting a few months while I pull together another 3k isn't plausable. Buying a runaround for the meantime in my eyes is a false economy as the purchase of the car along with insurance, the couple fixes required on 99% of cheap car sales is just a no brainer. Finance is something a large amount of people do, there's nothing wrong with it and at the moment I fall into that box where that is a reasonable option for me. It doesn't mean I can't afford to own and run that kind of car, it will not spiral into a pit coming out looking like madmax has just been on a rally course. It just means I don't have full funds right this moment to go and buy the car privately or elsewhere. I apologise for the rant above but a lot of the posts are not actually in answer to what I have asked and are actually getting rather personal to be honest. So to finalise please if you know of anywhere or see a 350z that falls into the criteria please do let me know, it would be a great help. Neilp Posted April 18, 2015 Share Posted April 18, 2015 If you have ok credit rating go see a garage and get a finance deal over 4 years or so. Most garages will be able to sort this for you. Also, if you have seen on private, theres companys out there that will do a personal finance agreement for you against pretty much any car. This will all be subject to your credit scoring and credit limits etc. Theres still some decent cars out there for a couple of grand if you are having issues. Im also going to stick my oar in though!! Sounds like you need a car, which presumably means you need it to be on the road. Are you sure this is the right decision in terms of buying if something happens with one of these its likely to be four digit expensive and possibly mean it being off the road, our first one needed a gearbox rebuild unexpectedly it was off the road for 3 weeks waiting for parts from japan, lets say they wernt "overnight". I think that might depend on who's doing the finance tbh. The company I bought my Zed from can do finance and they use a variety of different finance companies so that they can accommodate most buyers/situations. Luckily I didn't have to use any finance as I had the money to buy outright but in the past as ioneabee & SMD have mentioned the best way I've found to buy a car was by using a bank for a loan (not always an option for all though I know). Ed Already stated tradelink in my first post and I check there regularly, just don't have anything in stock at the moment that fits the bill In regards to keeping the car on the road once I get it I have covered this in many of my posts thoughout this topic. I am financing a car because I havent got the complete funds for 350z that fits the bill at this moment. I really don't see what people's issue is with this. When I get the car if it needs a repair, it will be repaired, if I feel it needs a carbon bonnet it will get one. My question to anyone here that feels the need to repeat the same question of "do you honestly think you can keep it on the road" (because this is bugging the hell out of me know) is: I am using finance to offer up £5k value and spead that cost to have a car I like. If your car needed a £5k value repair, would you not prefer to spread that cost? It's the same concept I know tyres will set me back, I know how much it will cost in fuel, I'm aware of the tax, the insurance, the servicing and pleasurable mods. For the last time I've owned cars much like this before so please don't assume because I havent got the funds for an outright purchase that I'm a corsa owner in a land of ferraris as its starting to get rather offensive. All I have asked for help on is if you stumble across somewhere I can check for a car that fits the bill to please let me know. Any mods / admin that read this I know it may seem like I'm going into a rage but I have asked for a certain amount of help in one direction and I've clearly stated my "displeasure" at some comments in here. I have been around owners clubs, shows, meets (as I do actually own in partnership) my own club. I feel I can offer help and am one to speak up when people ask for a helping hand rather than being a member that merely reads but I appologise in advance if anyone gets snapped at for asking the same question again To the many people that have been of help I honeslty thank you. There is a garage in Chichester on the A27 think it's called Chichester cars cleverly. They always have 350z in there. Problem is it's a dealer and obviously have higher prices than private. But I guess your fully aware of this. Think some one got one from them recently. Had some issues with paint work and the garage sorted it for them if I remember rightly.
