bronzee
My goodness you lot are ripped off for petrol. And we Kiwi's think we are. Yesterday 91ron was $1.67 and that makes 98ron $1.77 per litre.
martinmac
With the added revuenue the government receives from North Sea oil due to the oil price at the moment they could afford to knock 9p per litre off and it would cost them nothing

Drexyl
Recieved this email today: See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... .. THREE HUNDRED MILLIONPEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. I.e. boycott BP and Esso Food for thought? martinmac
Can see where its going. Refining is a very complex issue, as we know the refinery sells fuel to all companies and to be honest petrol is not the big profit. At the moment there is a shortage of fuel so if we boycott certain companies the others will run out of their quota and have to buy from those with surplus and guess what these guys will do And remember, BP dont have any refineries in the UK anymore. bronzee
Refining is a very complex issue, as we know the refinery sells fuel to all companies and to be honest petrol is not the big profit. The largest profits are made from all the goodies you buy at the petrol station. At the moment there is a shortage of fuel so if we boycott certain companies the others will run out of their quota and have to buy from those with surplus and guess what these guys will do A number of very well informed sources would disagree that there is a shortage. Essentially we're all being manipulated into believing there is a shortage, thusly allowing them to create more price gouging and if you think about it on a global scale most governments reap a phenomenal amount of money out of taxes on petrol, so it continues. As far as I'm aware now, there is only one place in the world (in France) that has the facility to decommission batteries out of electric cars. Electric cars are heavier, therefore creating more wear and tear on the roads, obviously requiring more maintenance, lol and creating more carbon omissions, and for the batteries to be shipped from all over the globe to France. You guys see where I'm going with this?! We are all pawns in their manipulative power plays. And remember, BP dont have any refineries in the UK anymore. Almost amusing as BP in NZ are invariably the first to rise the price of petrol per litre, every time there is even a minor sneeze in the price per barrel, never mind the stockpiles in every country. Basically we've been encouraged to become so dumbed down in every way shape and form by our illustrious leaders, this is only a small part of it. martinmac
At the moment Bronzee, due to a problem last week one of the major refineries in England is, and will remain at about 50% production for some time. However BP are guaranteed product so they are in a safe position, its the others who may suffer. As regards the global situation, more oil is now under the control of government run companies. Venezuela for instance, they dont care about the global situation and are happy to sell half the amount to create the $100 per barrel rather than double production at $50 per barrel and deplete their reserves. Easy way to kill the price...reduce demand. Off to do some work now as I believe London is sinking
xStric9x
Reading one of the morning papers today i see that £1billion was lost in taxes due to the amount of people giving up smoking, the goverment is very good in making you believe in what they want you to believe and some how they need to regain that loss....tossers!!!!! Thank you for reading this advertisment from Shell UK....... Well guys I work bloody hard to get as much oil from the North Sea as possible. The demand is far greater than the supply for oil due to large purchases by China and India among others. I hate to say it but I don't see it coming down anytime soon unless the government steps in to cap prices by reducing the operators profits and cutting tax. I will be running the gay purple diesel dog more to save cash!
Dan
The simple answer is for us all to start bogus companies, register for VAT and claim 17.5% back on all our petrol At Tesco last night it was 103.9, which works out at 88.5p a litre for me I am of course talking gonads because the VAT man always wins, I always end up paying him every quarter, and quite handsomely for the contribution he makes to my business, ie none at all, but at least I get to kid myself over the price of petrol !
