GMballistic
Just went and checked and the person has removed their note and left mine there! Some people have their own little silly world they live in I guess where all their bizarre behaviour makes lots of sense... Very bizarre. Probably had second thoughts about the note they left. coldel
First chance in a month to properly give the GT4 a bit of love and attention. G3 Detox shampoo, came across a bottle of AG Ultra Deep Shine so put that on, followed by Dodo Juince Supernatural wax and some metal polish on the exhaust. Waxed the wheels, tyre dressing, Fast Glass all around, Nanolex Trim Rejuventor on the inside, Leather Care Balm for the seats and then ran out of time as had to go for a walk with the family in the unexpected sunshine! Damn she is a sexy beast of a car
GMballistic
Look's very cool, ...have to say the shape of it is really growing on me.
coldel
Cheers mate, I didnt have time to fire up the rotary and get the PlastX on the lights which could do with a polish but might have a go tonight. Like some cars (RX8 for instance) when you photograph them they look a bit odd but in the metal they are pretty good looking cars, do need the spats on though! LRF4N
Comes up well mate Any fade on the red? My mr2 is in generally good nick outside other than some swirls and a few areas fading. Can't wait to make a start on the detailing
coldel
No fading at all, history of it is that is has had one rich owner in Japan (have the address!) who sold it out on import to the guy I bought it from who is a car collector here in the UK. So sat in his lock up since 2009 alongside various vintage 911s etc doing about 1000 miles over 6 years and only got sold to me as he was spending so much time on the Escort Cosworth he just bought with 13k miles on it. So really hadnt been exposed to the sun in its life and hence the oxidisation hasnt really had a chance to start on the paintwork. I did all my work today by hand, but already brought up a nice gleam to it. I would imagine a machine polish would really take it a few steps on. JetSet
Looks nice, had a mr2 turbo with the same engine - loved it, i'm sure you'll enjoy it! Yes, we had an MR2 Turbo as well, sadly the turbo went in a big way and the garage that fixed it for me couldn't source a replacement. After 3 weeks we had to bite the bullet and go to Toyota and that cost almost half the value of the car. Hadn't done that many miles either 60,000 ish from memory. JetSet
And this is why I'm moving to a house in the middle of nowhere, I can't upset anyone that way! Well I live in the middle of nowhere but upset the only neighbour I really have by walking around the edge of the field they rent, stuck up woman called it a paddock, jeez its an overgrown field, they don't actually use it but said I was invading her privacy. Blimey I was at least 250 yards from her rented house. This is the same neighbour that didn't even bother to pop around to ask if we were O.K when we got snowed in for almost a week in 2013, keeping in mind we're both over 60 and the nearest shop is like 3 miles away. coldel
Some more pics, had a nice drive out this morning. Also confirmed booking on 26th at TGM to sort the bonnet out so happy days. Definitely needs a little drop on the ride height...

TT350
There's a high concentration of black ones knocking around here even a rough looking matt black one but never seen one in red. Looks lovely.

What a coincidence......I passed a gleaming black GT Four in Manchester this weekend. It's nice to see this red gem is in good hands Coldel. It is a lovely examlpe from the good ol days when Toyota had a stunning line up. MR2 turbo Celica GT Four Supra TT
coldel
Cheers mate, I do have to pinch myself regularly to realise that I have been so lucky to pick up a great example Probably going to put on the tein springs in the next month or so...doesnt really need coilovers, its just had a whole new suspension set up put in so seems a shame to replace it so soon. coldel
Well in case you missed it on Paycos thread, got the car back from TGM and bonnet looks amazing. Builders who dropped the slate tiles on the bonnet paid out in full up front in cash which made life a bit easier sorting it out! In terms of next steps...umming and urring about RTP putting a front lip on the car and gave me a good price for it, but something about me is saying keep it looking a bit more standard, most Fours on the forum have the same front lip mod and I am thinking keeping it as is to be that little bit different and original That said, car is booked in with South Coast Motors on the 28th for some Tein springs to go on and drop the car around 37mm front and back. Also trying to work out how to add some bass to the sound system, thought underseat speaker would be the best way but thinking it won't sound quite so good as a compact active box with 10 inch sub. Oh the choices! Edited June 6, 2015 by coldel
GMballistic
If it was me I'd keep it looking as it is. Much nicer like that imo although lowering it would obviously be a winner as long as it doesn't interfere with how it handles/drives daily in a negative way. coldel
Yes been chatting with the guys on the forums about the springs, apparently it does stiffen up a bit but not substantially over the ones I have at the moment (aftermarket KYB ones which have about 1000 miles on them). Apparently handling changes much more for the better though - think I will give it a go, and if it really is bad I got my nearly new KYBs that could go back on in the long term, its not a permanent mod. Stutopia
Great repait, looks flawless. Regarding the lip, as what GM says, it's such a fine example of an uncommon car, I'd be tempted to leave it as is.
coldel
Yes the job Will did was great, done a few bits with him now and very impressed. Aluminium bonnet as well just to make things more interesting to repair. I was 90% leave as is, 10% change it - I think you both just confirmed what I was thinking, keep as Edited June 6, 2015 by coldel

Ekona
Sorry, look. A subtle drop on springs is always allowed!
