longsh07
Long story short the missus wants to change the wheel nuts on her Civic. I have a set of 60 degree tapered nuts going spare however the car still has the stock alloys which are radius / ball seats. There is little to no choice of raduis nuts SO... has anyone ever used these radius to taper washers to allow them to use tapered nuts? http://www.raceways.co.uk/Taper_to_radius_conversion_washer_for_wheel_bolts.htm Considerably cheaper than buying a new set of nuts. Any opinions welcome. My only real concern is them damaging the alloys if they dont seat in the alloy properly or if a clown with a impact wrench gets anywhere near them. KyleR
Does she just want new nuts because the current ones are a bit rusty looking? How about just buying chrome nut covers for about a tenner? Edited April 4, 2015 by KyleR
longsh07
Well we plasti dipped the wheels white so she'd quite like some coloured or black wheel nuts rather than chrome but we did think about covers. Those washers are 70p each and I've got a nice set of black nuts and lockers already so was the cheapest option. We did think about getting covers but all the chrome on the current locker has come off and the head had started to rust so they could probably do with being replaced anyway before they become and issue. We might end up just replacing those and trying to polish up the old nuts. Edited April 4, 2015 by longsh07
