alexwitham
Hey, I know this is a fairly common set up on the Z's, does anyone else suffer from a squeaky setup particularly when at slow speeds (under 20mph). I noticed the DS2500's didn't come with pad shims which as far as I understand are designed to aid heat transfer as well as prevent squeaking brakes, I did use some copper ease but perhaps that's burnt off after the bed in period has lapsed. Any feedback or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks
Tay
Yep, both annoying and pretty normal from what i can gather. Some new shims will help but at a recent meet, nearly all the Zs that turned up squeaked like crazy.
Ekona
Go bed them in properly. Do a search for Redstuff pads, I posted the procedure up only last week for someone else.
alexwitham
I'm pretty confident I did bed them in properly - although I'll do it again tomorrow and see if that improves things.
Sam Mcgoo
I've been using that setup for a few years now and not had any issues. I've always just re-used the shims and put copper grease on both sides of shims as well as top and bottom sliding edge of pads. Although I do need to change my shims as they are bit worse for wear.
