GMballistic
Depends how loud it actually is to whether or not they will let it on track at Snetterton, ...looking at around 102-105dB maximum with a drive by 92dB max. You could always try one of those free Apps you can get or an actual dB meter to see how loud the car actually is. You might be surprised although with the tubular long headers which it sounds like you have it's going to be close on the limit that's for sure. Only last year Andy James sold his Berks HFC's as De-Cats because his supercharger had blown out all the internals from the HFC's. That's why I went the De-Cat route with my build as well otherwise I would have just stuck with my Berks HFC's.

Surprising that standard S2K blew out the HFC's though.

Martin_t5r
Is a miltek quieter than a cobra? I have now got a decibel app to try and I guess it will give me a ball park figure to work with. need to do something about it, can't keep coming home with blood streaming from my ears whenever I drive the car

Hopefully someone who's had or at least heard both can help you. My dB meter app isn't great & I have no idea how accurate it is but as you say it will give you a ball park figure to start with. KyleR
Yes there is a small silencer in mid pipe, which has a slightly cracked weld. I didn't think it was a cobra as the pipe comes into the backbox from the left side, like a japspeed or cheapy Chinese one? The cobra backbox is fed from the center? Thankyou for replies So you guys reckon even with new system, the tubular manifolds certainly maybe the source of my anti social zed and I will still be left with a car that won't pass noise tests at snetterton etc With the manifolds it'll always be a bit louder, but I certainly wouldn't be changing them out as they will give the best power is you chose to remap in the future Is a miltek quieter than a cobra? I have now got a decibel app to try and I guess it will give me a ball park figure to work with. need to do something about it, can't keep coming home with blood streaming from my ears whenever I drive the car From what I have heard the Miltek is about the quietest you can get other than OEM, but it has a nice tone.
