ps has anyone found that their traction control is kicking off more often since fitting an air intake. I have found this definetley since I fitted mine, especially in 1st & 2nd gear, usually while pulling off after taking tight turns??

Probably more to do with your heavy right foot than an air take ;)

Imo it's down to the weather an the greasy roads... Or possibly the Falkens, never experienced them in the cold till now!!!

SERVICING YOUR POP-CHARGER FILTER ELEMENT:

1. Remove the element from the POP-Charger aluminum venturi

and shake out any loose dirt.

2. Spray the element liberally with a water based cleaner like 409,

Simple Green, or laundry detergent mixed with warm water.

Basically any cleaner that could be used to remove grease from

a cotton tee shirt without damaging it.

3. Rinse the element with low pressure (IE. open ended garden

hose slightly opened) water from the inside outward.

4. Dry the element by shaking or swinging it to remove the

majority of water and allowing it to final dry naturally. No heat or

compressed air!

5. Spray an even coat of gauze air filter oil (most motorcycle,

performance shops or Jim Wolf Technology, inc.) lengthwise

along each pleat. Wait a few minutes and touch up any thin or

missed pleats.

6. Service intervals depend on the driving environment. Intervals

can be up to 50,000 miles or as short as one day for off-road

events. Generally the element can look pretty dirty and still be

working at a high efficiency since new particles continue to stick

to the previously trapped particles. If you are not sure, remove

the element and shine a light from the inside. If you can’t see

the light from the outside or it is dim, it’s time for service. Use

caution when cleaning or servicing car batteries located near

the filter, as battery acid residue will eat holes in the element.

I heard from performance centres that putting any oil based cleaner on the filter is bad idea.. and just use soapy water to clean it.

If its the cotton gauze type filter like K&N and JWT popcharger. Then they are pre-oiled already. when you clean them especially with detergents the oil needs to be re-applied. The K&N cleaning kit comes with the oil designed especially for the air filter.

I wouldnt recomend spraying oil onto the paper type that come standard with most cars.

Oh yeah, that was me!!! Sorry mate

ps Iv also now discovered I get about 10 to 20 less miles from a full tank with the pop charger fitted :(

That cos you drive faster to hear the popcharger :D

Fitted mine Sunday - piece of cake to fit providing you follow instructions - took less than an hour. Throttle a lot more responsive now and does seem quicker. Noticeable difference in noise at about 4k rpm - there is a real throaty RAW. I have noticed I am always changing gear at high revs now to hear it LOL so I guess my fuel consumption will drop as well!! :p
