Chan267
What is everyone using? I have used the ds2500 but looking to upgrade them to get more bite on track. Does any traders sell the carbontech xp8 or the pagid rs19 for the front?
RobPhoboS
If you go to carbotech please report back, I've wanted to try them for ages now!
ZMANALEX
I run Carbotech on the R35. However you have to choose the compound carefully depending on your intended use. Running XP12 at the moment.
ts743
I'm using standard Brembo pads at the moment, which have been fine for daily driving with the odd bit of heavy use. I was running Yellow Stuff previously and they were pretty useless when pushed. Carbotech XP8's have a great rep - drop an email to Ian (sales@carbotech-europe.com) and he will sort you out
docwra
Ive run DS2500, Project Mu NS and Carbon Lorraine RC6 on my 350Z and Ive got Pagid RS29 on my BMW ......... the Pagids are awesome but the CL's probably have a bit more bite from cold, Ive heard very good things about Carbotech as well ETA: They might be RC8 rather than RC6 actually ......... Ewen@Clark Motorsport
We have had great success with CL (Carbon Loraine) RC6 and RC8 pads for track use. The best pads I have personally used and I have tried all the good manufactures. We used these in an R35 GTR in last years SLS based at Knockhill which is a very hard track for brakes. Keith the owner ended up winning his class Edited March 19, 2015 by Ewen@Clark Motorsport
Ewen@Clark Motorsport
The other thing worth mentioning with CL is they only have 3 compounds, unlike others it makes it very easy to chose a pad that will work for a range of uses

philw99
So far i've used porterfield pads on my track 350z, they have some great bite when you put some heat into them. Also found them hard wearing, even with me riding the brakes round a track http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/porterfield-2076.html
gstraw
Are the rc5's good for fast road use then? Or just track? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ewen@Clark Motorsport
Are the rc5's good for fast road use then? Or just track? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They can be used on the road and work well from cold but like the Ferodo DS2500 these are classed as a race pad so dust and the chance of noise is a possibility. Chan267
Well after a four hour open pit at knockhill, the brake pads performed brillantly in the wet and in the dry when l was out. No brake fade and the squealing from the brakes is minimum compared to a few other race pads. Its definitely a step up from the ds2500 pads which l previously used. I recommend these pads without a doubt but mind l have upgraded my discs which contributes to the brakes stopping power overall.
RobPhoboS
Good to hear they are working nicely on the track (I heard a while back they had some issues coming away from the backing plate), how are they on the road though ? I dig the DS2500's at the mo, just need to get the rears done as well now.
Chan267
Yeah no issues on the road abit from abit of noise from time to time. Ds2500 are really good pads but when it comes to stopping from high speeds, the cl rc5 plus wins by a good margin
PageyUK
I used Carbotech on my MR2. For hill climbing the softer pads are excellent and come up to temp very quickly. The 350 is a heavy car and if your doing countless laps I'd go for the harder compound but be careful when they are cold and be sure to get them up to temp. martybhoy
I use big standard brembos. I find them a very comfortable pad with good braking efficiency. Not snappy or grinding etc and since I don't track my car I can't complain.
Dynamic Turtle
Used ds2500 and pagoda on the 350, brembos had good cold bite but 2500 were better for fast road/ track use, too much squeal with pagoda though, unbearable! Will look at the CL when I come to change the Nismo pads.
370Ad
The 70 brakes are epic, in standard form they are far better than updated discs/pads with brembo's on the 50. Probably one of the top three improvements between the two cars in my eyes. At the Nissan event day everyone commented on how good the brakes were when I took them out. I always update my brakes on cars but stuck with standard on the 70 and haven't regretted it even on track. Dynamic Turtle
The brakes are good on the Nismo too but the more understeery balance and average potenza S001 tyres makes you think they're not as effective however...
