Harryjax
Fitted a Invidia exhaust and Berks HFC's to my car about 8-9 months ago. Love the noise but now I have an issue getting it to pass an mot due to exhaust emissions. CO and HC both pass but the Lambda reading falls outside specified limits. CO= 0.03% Pass HF= 26 PPM Pass Fast idle = 1.096 Fail 2nd fast idle = 1.083 Fail Is this common when HFC's are fitted? How can I sort this without removing aftermarket system. Will replacing both lambda sensors fix this? No fault codes are being stored on ecu when I put the code reader on.

Keyser
Replacing the sensor's will make no difference AFAIK - its the test equipment that is giving the high reading. Yes common of HFC's - only advice is rag the car for a bit before the test - get here really hot the CAT's are more efficient when hot. If that fails PM me I have another solution

RafsZed
I thought having a Berks HFC fitted isn't a problem with MOT, I just had mine done with no problems or is it only a problem when fitted together with certain exhaust systems?
Will370z
Its a common issue that the HFCs cause problems with the MOT. Normally if run hot before the MOT and you have a friendly tester its not such a problem
sipar69
I was told that the materials used inside Cobra HFCs mean that MOT fails should not be an issue....got another couple of years til I find out. Fingers crossed.

Kaveney
My car with Cobra HFC did not pass and were new but the car may not have been hot enough . Alan
flyboy
Mine passed with cheap ebay HFC and an invidia gemini --- once a tiny exhaust leak had been fixed from the mid flange. Check for even the smallest leak as this threw the Lambda and HC way out on mine.
RobPhoboS
Find a different place for MOT and always use those guys
veilside z
Its a great pain. The involvement to replace the decat with original cats every year. I have been lucky of recent times to find a friendly tester. Be cautious.

sipar69
Ok. Be interesting to see what happens when I'm due an MOT as I was definitely told they were MOT proof.
