Cannot say anything good about them. The employees take the cars home and drive them like they stole them with no care in the world. They will not service your car at all just little top up with oil. Half the cars are cat c's. Will not put anything right before u buy the car even tho they say they will. They will want a deal on the table before uve looked at the car 100%. 90% of the cars are bought cheap at auction with big problems. Ecu's are plugged in and clear of faults before u get the car and pretty certain after a week u will have disco lights on the dash. The minute you have a problem and you hassle them they will in these woulds tell you to F Off. spa1 Posted May 23, 2015 Share Posted May 23, 2015 I went to them a few years back to look at a Z, nothing like the ad suggested so walked away! Bought mine from Vulcan Cars in Norwich, time to pick it up a week later.All seemed ok until I gotten out of the city onto open roads when I noticed the car was pulling to the left slightly.Stopped and checked the front tyres to find that on of the original Dunlops had been changed for a poxy Avon.Not one for mixing brands on same axles etc I phoned them to ask why it was so . Couldn't get a reasonable answer so just carried on with my journey home. Next day went to see a friend in my then local ATS who stripped off the avon only to find that apart from the tyre being run for what must have been a fair distance it had been illegally repaired with a tupe patch not a plug! So I then decided thata full set of new dunlops could be the way to go. Three out of four had illegal repairs! I had a Vectra a few few years ago. Couple of weeks in, the DMF started rattling. They said take it to get it repaired and they'd cover it. Went to collect the car and it hadn't been paid. Long story short, I put it on the credit card, emailed, wrote, visited. Got no where. Started a small claims in court - they capitulated. Paid in full with costs. Second one. Trader sold a car to my son for £900. Turbo packed in after a week. "Sold as seen!!" Long story short, sued them, they defended. Judge told them they were morons for coming to court and not reading the SOGA. £800 for turbo + costs, plus loss of wage for the day £1150. Found out later from the quoting garage that it was actually the EGR pipe that was split. £44 + fitting = £74 Ah man, my bad Should have refunded my son when I gave him the opportunity. Son bought a push chair for his baby. Wheel fell off the next day. Owner of the shop actually laughed at him and told him to leave the shop. Recorded delivery letters, final chance, sued, coughed up, plus costs. I'll sue any con merchant from the comfort of my couch. No skin off my nose if they want to play games. J17 clearly are keen on handling Zs....and this forum, err, fairly keen on owning Zs ...so wouldnt it be cool if we could trust and support each other?! - If the company has any business acumen whatsoever they should call a board meeting to address any weaknesses in their product preparation or services and go out of their way to engage with this and similar forums - to drag themselves up by their boot straps and push forward with a top professional service in future. - Since it will now clearly take some convincing of forum members to trade with J17, it would make obvious (laser in a coal mine kinda obvious) sense to formulate a custom Forum package service for single marque clubs such as ours. Trading 200 350s must make them the largest retailer of used Zs, and we are probably the principal single marque club with biggest buying and part exing (providing 2 sales) potential... This is not rocket science!....I want a 350....I looked at some ads and found one or two i liked..both were J17 as it happens..soo, naturally I researched the Company before taking 2 yrs of my savings and handing it to them and taking a car on trust, untested by indi professional - what did I find...well lets just say it wasnt encouraging. - I suspect I am not the only member who has trodden this path and looked elsewhere - how ridiculous is this??!! - J17 wants to be the leading purveyor of used Z - we are probably the single largest group of buyers / enthusiasts! - J17, for your own good, get it sorted - demonstrably & quickly before your reputation becomes irretrievable in specialist car forums ! They need to come up with some sort of specialist exhaustive, item by item sales checklist that will satisfy an experienced forum member / enthusiast - then an after sales rectification procedure, with timetable for actions - and again, not rocket science, but offer a genuine financial incentive (not just the best open market cash price, but a true concession in gratitude for the 'shooting fish in a barrel' sales opportunity! - Reduced marketing costs, exponential customer interest resulting from endorsement feedback + sready supply of well maintained used cars) - A no cost, principal component peace of mind warranty should form part of the special arrangement. So, J17 are you going to put in a little effort? - Glowing endorsements on car enthusiast forums will grow your fame and fortune exponentially...its that simple! - Start with this club, particularly as it is here that your reputations appears to be in tatters and would clearly see a huge swing in your favour. Provide one particular longterm technical member of your sales team to handle Forum inquiries (as part of his/her general sales duties) and train them up in the Marque, have them join our Forum to gain experience and represent your company / Forum liaison - With the help of the Forum, this individual can draft a Z Marque check form + History (incl when purchased) and present to J17 Board Draft after sales support procedure, to be signed by J17 at point of sale & presented to customer with a copy of (1) Provide a demonstrably genuine preferential price to Forum customers Provide an itemised principal components peace of mind incl warranty (FOC) signed at point of sale. This should incl an option to return vehicle for full immediate refund if after sales agreement terms are not honoured, and / or principal component failure / S.O.G.A breach J17, may I suggest you choose a senior representative and offer their services within a dedicated thread to hammer out something similar to above - trust us, your reputation and fortunes can only improve - there is no mileage in bitching at one another when one is the supplier for profit and the other is a queue of appreciative customers & supplier of well cherished cars!! I'd also make sure that I had a clear case of EVERYTHING in writing, and that they would know that if things weren't right then I'd be going to SCC pronto. The blatant shrugging off on the issues quoted by the powers to be, displays not only the lack of respect but confidence within his establishment, only to be expected from a jumped up salesman with attitude. Currently researching which engine, colour, etc... I want. Just as a note of appreciation, having looked through autotrader, longingly, on many a night I had compiled a list of potential dealers that I would visit; Junction 17 were on that list. Thanks to this thread, they are now removed and I won't be going anywhere near them. It's funny, as a previous poster has mentioned, as I'm in the position of going through autotrader quite often I can see that their pictures and photos of 'stock' just does not seem to change at all! BTW I went from a 911 to a 350Z too. Junction 17 uhmmmm well I am another purchaser from these guys. It was about 4 years ago (I can get all the facts if anyones interested) I went all the way up there from Brighton and viewed a kit car 355 based on an MR2 turbo. It looked pretty good and the test drive was ok. There was a long list of bits that I wanted doing before I agreed to purchase it. They agreed with it all so I paid a deposit. The agreement was to deliver the car to me after all the fixes were done. They kept going back on their word for when it was being delivered and what they had agreed to repair/replace. I had at this point paid all of the £9000.00 (yes I hear you shouting you doughnut Mark). They told me also that the car had gone through HPI and no problems. At this point I was getting worried so I did a quick HPI check, turned out the doner vehicle had been written off! Cutting the story short, months passed with no reply apart from we are going to just drop it off to you to which I replied I will turn it straight back round and send it back. I sent them a letter telling them unless I received a full refund I would be taking it further and invoking the sale of goods act 1979 (as amended). I then received a letter from their solicitors threatening me. It got very heavy I stood my ground and I beat them because their solicitor slipped up in writing. I got a full refund. Take the car on it's merits as is and don't expect to have any further dealings with them after the sale. Then use any defects to haggle the price down instead of letting them BS about fixing it before pickup/delivery. I must admit after reading these reviews I would think twice about dealing with this company. Puffmac Posted August 25, 2015 Share Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) Hi there, Also from Glasgow. I spotted a 58 plate 350Z on their website the Saturday before last. It had pretty high mileage at 96k but it had 1 previous owner and apparently had a full service history. I done an HPI check and it came out OK, looked great in the pictures and the guys down the phone sounded brilliant. I explained to them on more than one occasion that I would be coming a fair distance so wanted them to be honest with me as I would rather not travel that distance to find out the car was not up to the mark. However, I was reassured that the car was in excellent condition, "very straight up for the mileage", with no marks other than some minor stone chips and a scratch on the rear bumper which wouldn't even show up in photographs. They also assured me they would service it before it left their garage. It looked great in the pictures, and I was convinced that a garage with the caliber of cars in their showroom must be trustworthy, so I placed my token deposit and told them I would be down on Tuesday. I arrived and the bumper was covered in scratches and stone chips, and all around the body there was dents and dings which I wasn't told about, despite stressing how far I was travelling. There was no receipts for any work having been done, so the only history was the service book. In the service book there was a year missing from it, which normally wouldn't be the end of the world, except that in that year the car had travelled over 30k miles with no proof of any servicing having been carried out in that time. There was also no stamp in the book from the service they had apparently done the day before. The windscreen had been replaced at some point - badly. The rubber trim along the top was cut about 2 inches too short and was bubbled in other areas; "it came in like that" they said. Again, another thing they hadn't mentioned. There was only 1 key, and they were unwilling to supply a new one, nor were they willing to drop the price in order for me to supply one myself. The final straw came when I couldn't find the lock nut key. The salesman frantically searched the car for it to no avail, coming back with "ah yes well they repaired a puncture when it got serviced yesterday so the mechanic must have it. I'll ask him to get it". Waited 20 minutes, still nothing. Asked him if he had any luck, to which he told me there were now 3 people on the case of the mystery lock nut key! Having uncovered the various lies preceding this one, I decided to see for myself how the search was going. I popped out the door and had a look into the garage, where the shutter door was open, to indeed find 3 people. Three people sitting on their arses having their tea! I told him it wasn't for me and left, and to my surprise actually got the deposit back without any fighting. I flew to Luton on Saturday past and happily purchased a nice 07 HR in a private sale, and I could not be happier with it (will post a thread in the introductions section later).
