Jetpilot
The first time i went to Castle Combe we all had an excellent day, so we thought we would go back, the 2nd time we went there it was absolute carnage and left shortly after lunch. Both days were booked through the circuit so no different organisers to blame. Lessons learned: Do not book a track day before a race weekend, lots of race cars out testing even though their website states track days are for road vehicles not race cars! Also because of the race cars the the groups were over their maximum stated out on the track at any one time. Couldnt have been a lot of fun for the race cars either tbf. One guy was thrown off first session for overtaking in the braking zone (on me), one second i am off the brakes and turning in and the next the guy was up the inside of me, was pretty sketchy as was carrying the speed for the corner and suddenly had nowhere to go except straight on and run off track. First day was excellent though, they had matched cars performance into relevant groups, group sizes were about right and a very relaxed calm atmosphere, just people enjoying their cars and having fun
docwra
The odd racecar adds to the fun sometimes though, Ive spent many a lap chasing ....... sorry, being chased by Civic/Clio Cup cars and the 911 GT3 thing that was at Spa last time I was there was awesome - ironically we heard he got thrown off for dangerous driving eventually
Ekona
I remember doing the Ring a few years back, and sharing the track with an F430 GT2 car that I'd watched race a couple of weeks earlier at LeMans Being overtaken by that round the Karussel was amazing. Wendy
That's the only bit of The Ring I don't like, so would have found that scary as well and interesting and fun !!!!
Ekona
I was only pootling round that bit at the time, as I'd boiled my brakes so was desperately trying to cool them down Glad I did though, as that meant he went past me at full bore and I had the roof down so could appreciate every last decibel from the exhaust.
