inspiral
or M brace depending on which way you hold it :-) Must have a few years life left it in obviously. Anything out there ? Thanks
RobPhoboS
Ultra racing make replacements if you want new, and it's possibly an improvement but hard to say.
inspiral
Yeah I'd seen that thanks Rob. I don't have a great record getting a good fit for aftermarket things like that. But I may give it a bash is I can't find a cheaper second hand option. Cheers
-Bradders-
Can have mine for free but its still attached to car in about 3 pieces
inspiral
Very good, sounds like mine ! Unfortunately my garage mentioned it as an advisory on my last MOT so need to fix it as I may be selling up at some point over the summer. RobPhoboS
The Ultra Racing stuff will fit, I'd get it from a trader here or driftworks if you DID have an issue. (I don't think you will) If you search a chap called 'addisj' has some UR bracing on his car. Do a search like this on google: site:350z-uk.com ultra racing Edited February 20, 2015 by RobPhoboS
Toon Chris
Very good, sounds like mine ! Unfortunately my garage mentioned it as an advisory on my last MOT so need to fix it as I may be selling up at some point over the summer. Mine had that advisory too at MOT time. When I took a closer look it turns out they can look pretty bad but actually its surface rust and muck only. Get under it with goggles on and wire brush it. Poke it with a screwdriver too and If it looks solid smother it in sealant and it will pass next time. Considering the complete ball-ache removing the old one will be, its worth the effort. inspiral
Yep, need to have a good poke around and see how serious it is. Are they difficult to replace? at first glance I thought it was only a few bolts....
RobPhoboS
at first glance I thought it was only a few bolts.... It is. Soak in Plus gas + impact wrench will have it done in a couple of moments, then just use a torque wrench to tighten it back up with the new bar. AliveBoy
The issue is the rust, I've not had one on my car for over a year and had no issues without one. Obviously, it's there for a reason. however I wouldn't panic too much for the meantime. New from Nissan they're £300 odd, I think Clarke Motorsports have them for less
Stu_2424
Taken mine off and just had it blasted and powder coated. Need to order some new bolts though as snapped a few getting them off and had to drill out and rethread them Edited February 23, 2015 by Stu_2424
RobPhoboS
It's mainly why I'd advise hiring/buying an impact wrench to undo them. I've snapped soo many bolts in the past with a flipping breaker bar Edited February 23, 2015 by RobPhoboS
