Joeycuz Posted February 12, 2015 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Hi guys, I'm looking for abit of info regarding lowering the zed. Ive looked at afew sites and I'm still undecided on what to purchase. I want to get some spacers also so will I need to be careful how wide to go to avoid rubbing on the arches? What Wheels do you have with what offset How low do you wanna go - slammed or just a bit lower Budget - so we can suggest coil overs or just lowering springs If you want to go real low you will need camber kits to get the wheels back in line 18 or 19" wheels - and what tyres - do you like stretch with stretch you can go wider before you need to roll the arches Give us some more details we can help out Also if you have a pic of what you want it to look like when it's done post that - again we can tell you what is needed to achieve a certain look or stance Also worth a search as lots of lowered Zed's on here - Buster's is pretty low 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm after springs rather than coilovers as the car is only used to get around town so nothing to low. I have no idea in respect to the offset. Mudman Posted February 13, 2015 Share Posted February 13, 2015 My Zed is fairly low - just be prepared to having to think about things like speed bumps and bad surfaces when planning your routes. I cant even park at my new place as there are are two home made speed bumps that my Civic struggles to get over and before anyone comments its a cottage on a country estate below market rent with heating and hot water thrown in for free so the Zed visits on special occasions ! However they are only a 14/17mm drop so IMO not a lowering spring as people keep calling them and recommending for others looking to lower the car. SO, IMO, if you want to lower the car, buy some lowering springs (Apex, Eibach, K Sport etc) if you just want to improve the handling a bit on top of stock, buy the Teins. For me a 15mm (or the Tien 14/17 if you prefer) is spot on for making the car look like its 'supposed' to look, whilst at the same time not looking like its been deliberately lowered. I hope you see what I mean. Also you won't get and speed-bump issues. I originally had 25mm drops on my ajustables but got sick of losing bits of flexi-pipe on bumps every few weeks. I had 20mm spacers all round as recommended by Big Phil, a back-in-the-day Z specialist, but I'll bow to the peer opinion that 25mm are better on the back.
