hairyman68
Hi guys, think I've just been done over by a quiet elaborate scam. The above car was on eBay again but given an e mail account to sort out a sale via a company in Scotland . Harvey's Auto Transport. Paid 3800£ for it but it's not shown up and unable to get in touch with anyone. Also website is down for maintenance...? Appears a lady call Charlotte Watson was selling the car under an alias of Rebbeca Brehan on eBay. But think all a big scam. Will be chasing the bank in the morning and Police to. GMballistic
Sh*t that doesn't sound good. Did you pay everything in one go then under the pretence that they would deliver the car to you then? How did you pay as if it was via a credit card then you "may" be able to get your money back.

Paddy78
Why would you hand over £4k to someone you don't know for a car you've never seen? Call me a cynical old *****, but no part of that seems like a good idea... Hope you get your cash back!

Ekona
Is this for real? I mean, do people actually do this? Unless it was a Cat C 03 import with 200k on the clock, the price must've sent some alarm bells ringing.
Ekona
And on checking your first post, it mentions an 05 Zed. I'm sorry, but that really did have scam all over it. I'm sorry you've found out the hard way, I do hope you get your money back.

Ekona
Perhaps, but surely when you're hunting around and every single car is priced at least £1500 higher, you cannot think that you've stumbled onto a bargain. I don't think I'm massively switched on, it's just common sense. Like finding a pair of Levi's for sale at the local market for £10.
Ekona
But yeah, I'm coming across really harsh here, so I'll pipe down. Sorry OP, you must be gutted. Fingers crossed for you, and I hope it works out for the best.
Keyser
As Mr G said yes people do get scammed if no one did they would stop doing it - I very nearly got scammed on a trailer recently but backed out as I just thought something wasn't right - some poor sod may well have lost £7000 though - some of these scammers are bloody good at what they do! @OP - Hope you either didn't get scammed or get your money back mate.
