Jmanji
So I'm probably going to set about repairing this 09 gen 2 cayman 16k miles with a front end I have sourced a complete front end from a similar 06 model including lights wings Bonnet slam panels and plastic parts My question is how much work do you think is involved and is it with doing, I have been advised no chassis rail damage but am assuming it will need a jig anyway, Here is the pics of the damage?? Overall it's going to cost between 10-12k What's your thoughts, as I think the impact looks quite light???? Any input from a panel guy would be appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
neo
Does it run and is it drivable in its current state ?
Ekona
Gen1 and gen2 Cayman fronts aren't compatible. You'll need the lights and looms from a gen2.
Dave-350
Hi mate, I went about bidding on this on the last auction. Did you watch the last auction? It went up to silly money IMO bearing in mind the cost to repair and resell value, it obviously fell through or didn't meet reserve. You will pick up a Gen1 Cayman S in similar condition for less, that's what I would do. When you say the cost is 10 - 12k, do you mean repair or the sale of the vehicle? Because it went for more than that last time... Yes it runs and drives Neo. Good luck. Edited February 12, 2015 by Dave-
WhackyWill
You wont be able to tell exactly what is involved until you start stripping away the damage. As Dan said you are replacing a gen 2 front end with a gen 1. Give Chris Turner a call he is very helpful. http://www.christurner.com/ Edited February 12, 2015 by WhackyWill
