Jehuty
My cars in at glum Hopkins St albans having its p3 service. £365 (with alleged trade discount) just had a call saying they recommend a coolant change too at an extra £70. This is a major service shouldn't that be included?! Thanks in advance for replies!
Ekona
I wouldn't include that in a major service, no. I also wouldn't change it unless it was the colour of arse.
martybhoy
In terms of the nissan service history coolant is an option, just like spark plugs, even on a major service. In regards to the price I couldnt really say, I got my service kit from clarks motorsport and got infinity to do the work.
Paddy78
I thought P3's has been phased out by Nissan and they now only do P1 and P2? Plus £365 seems very steep! My P3 in Dec inc, MOT and 2 new Tyres was around £250. What are they doing for that price?
chirag1988
Sounds a bit toppy overall mate - are not close to Japex? They did my P3 a lot less than that!
WhackyWill
Yep !, had my P3 done by Japex. A lot cheaper than that as well.
-Bradders-
Hasnt it been said that a p3 no longer exists? its just a more expensive p2
H1979
I was quoted around £550 for a p3 with coolant and sparks on a hr (sparks are a lot more on hr than previous versions) from a Nissan dealer. I wanted sparks and coolant as they'd never been done and the car is now about 6 years old so due imo. So your quote seems a bit pricy unless they're doing the plugs as well. @paddy, out of interest what tyres did you get and only pay £250 for a p3 all in?
Adrian@TORQEN
I just buy the fluids from OpieOils and do it myself. CHEAPEST ever!

My P3 in Dec inc, MOT and 2 new Tyres was around £250. What are they doing for that price? Personally I would be more worried at that price, if they're doing everything properly. I mean, a cheap mot is around £30, and haven't seen new tyres for under £100 each.

AMT
Nissan are terrible for pricing I'd find a specialist people have used that you can get reviews from or find an Infiniti dealer, see if they can help. Last time I had a P3 done at Infiniti Glasgow it was £251 inclu VAT and the courtesy car. I'm sure it could be a little cheaper but to be honest you want it done decently and your car looked after...and they do that just fine
Flex
I wouldn't include that in a major service, no. I also wouldn't change it unless it was the colour of arse. Cheers Dan.

Darren-B
Unless there is something wrong with your coolant, the nissan Longlife coolant that is put in the car from the factory should be good for 7 years or 105k miles
Darren-B
It's in the manual, ask them about it???
ross@japex
Just goes to show what rip off merchants they are! How they can go from £365 + £70 to Ok we'll do it for £250! You done well though getting them down to that. The Nissan coolant is very good quality from factory. I would ask them what the test result was. What degree protection it went to.
biggles
I recently paid £225 at main dealer for a major service inc. coolant + £200 for plugs. Got a Leaf as a courtesy car for the day too, fun for a while but much better driving home in the Z. Interestingly the paperwork showed three levels of service bronze, silver, gold so I expect the dealers still looking to rip us off if we are not careful. I'll scan the sheet if anyone interested.

370Ad
I didn't know the plugs lasted 105k. Great value for money then!
DaddyCee
i always get concerned if the price quoted is then knocked down by the punter and the main stealer honours it. I'd definitely think that the trainee mechanic had been put on the job rather than an expert. Probably just my paranoia kicking in.
AMT
Spark plugs are 105K? That right?? I was gonna get mine done the next service at around 57K

I priced up plugs at £100+ for six and adding an hours labour on that it didn't seem too extortionate.
