Cotton92
Looking at spending around 300-400 on an aftermarket induction kit? Fairly new to the forum so can anyone help with any recommendations? Cheers

However if you want performance then stick with stock airbox and get a panel filter. Have a look around the forum, thousands of threads on this subject.

Ian
If you have that money to spend get an ARC one for sure.
AliveBoy
best performance intake is the stock box with a decent panel filter and the "velocity stack" mod, link below http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/59986-pre-2006-airbox-conversion-kit/
SkylineV35
^what they said stick with original box, use the rest of the money for plenum spacer or throttle controller.
martybhoy
That's a big argument on here. A lot of hype for the stock box (with a velocity stack if DE) and a good panel filter. I myself though have just ordered a jwt Popcharger ...can't beat a bit more noise
AliveBoy
I wouldn't say it's an argument, more of two different camps. Camp A = Wanting best performance at all costs, big dyno numbers mean big smiles. Camp B = Wanting noise/looks etc without worrying about a loss of 1 or 2 horsepower. I'm in camp B and have an apexi filter which I love

Tarmac@TarmacSportz
I'm in B - noise means your going faster anyway doesn't it
coldel
Pretty sure the somewhat higher heat levels with an aftermarket filter along with the less 'funneled' air do mean loss of ponies but hell 2bhp on a 260bhp car...really isnt a biggie when you consider as other said it sounds better and it looks better when you pop open that bonnet than having that hideous bulky black plastic box in there. Paddy78
I am biased, but I really think the Takeda is hard to beat in terms of noise, looks and price. It's a quality bit of kit and comes either matte black or polished.
AliveBoy
The only flaw with the apexi is that it uses the standard plastic tube so it looks a bit "meh"

It may easily be beaten on price, but the sound of the ARC is legendary!!

Paddy78
The ARC is a thing of beauty, but realistically he isn't going to get one of those is he? Unless you haven't flogged yours yet?

Funny enough I sold it last week. It wasn't even off the car, or even at the Zed Shed and it was snapped from under my nose!!
