mr_smith126
Hi all, Audio is most definitely not my strong point so thought i'd ask you guys for a little guidance. Have had a little scoot around but totally lost for the direction to go. Want to replace the standard head unit, needs to at least do the following: - be a very neat and simple, flush looking install with a neat frame, don't like lots of big buttons, a simple line is preferred, big screen. - cd/radio, have a windows phone not iphone and an old style ipod touch, i guess as much functionality for the budget is the aim - i won't be upgrading speakers at this stage, maybe later - want all the steering functions to work - have existing blue tooth but if unit has this then i guess this is down to install to sort which one is in control, remove old? - have existing nissan sat nav so due to costs and using phone not bothered about this at the moment although don't really use the nissan I use my phone instead - budget 250-350 including head unit any wiring and fitting items - not even sure if that is possible..? Not even sure the brands to avoid and the ones to try and go for.. Any views and opinions welcomed, things i need to clarify to choose etc.. leet8845
I'm very happy with my double din. It's well within your price range. You can get a full kit off Ebay for the wiring, faceplate and steering controls. You just need a kit with all the leads and patch lead etc. I used this seller and he was great and it all worked perfect, steering controls etc http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351172598255 kit is 2003-06, he does the years above same price too. Then I got this lead for my Iphone 4 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321528308984 You need one for your phone for appmode. It's easy to fit if you've fitted stereos before and have the basic tools required. The main loom for the stereo is just plug and play with the kit I used the reverse bulb wire which require removing the rear light for the signal for the reverse camera and brought a £10 universal night-vision camera off Amazon. It's all easy to do, took me a day but I was enjoying myself and taking my time. Just don't make your battery go flat blasting music like me! Looks good at night

I bought a Pioneer BT 2500 (older version of this one) from Ebay for about £230 last April. Does all the functions you've asked for.
mr_smith126
Thanks gents, this looks pretty tidy for the bucks.. Do you have any photos of the install in daytime per chance..? What do you think an installer would charge to fit this..? Edited January 14, 2015 by mr_smith126

leet8845
I've no idea how much it would cost to get it fitted. It involves removing the center console but that's easier than it sounds.
