mattross1313
Started this project when I first bought my Zed as Keyser just happened to have an engine block 'laying around' well, he actually had 2!! With a long break in the middle, I am finally finished! I've had the block powder coated hyper silver with all top faces mirror polished. There are 3 feet down each side which are cut down engine valves which are proving to be more than stable enough. I ran into a problem with my initial choice of pistons and rods as they cracked! So again, Keyser just happened to have a some pistons and rods in the scrap metal pile! I acquired these and sent the pistons away for polishing, and had the rods powder coated. The end plan for this was to include some 'under car table' LEDs, which left the challenge of where to run the LEDs, where to hide the wires, and where to mount the switch. Most of this was done by creating a Stainless Steel plate to cover the water pump area on the side of the block. I designed this up and a local company cut it out for me. So a quick montage of pics below of the build, and the final results are below. I am chuffed with it and will take pride of place in the new house (if we ever find one!). Will put up some pics later when its dark of the LEDs

RobPhoboS
I'll be completely honest, I was expecting some stupid table with Z's all over it (not because of yourself, just read the thread title) - this is brilliant ! Nice work Edited January 10, 2015 by RobPhoboS

Ebized
Grundy is certainly a potentially good source for parts for anyone thinking of doing the same Seriously that is awesome Matt - do the 6 'pots' get used for the next round of cans/bottles then

DoogyRev
Looks good Matt I am still prepping mine ready for undercoating, really not had much time recently to get on with it What LED's did you use? Mine I think will be going near a wall so was thinking of using mains electric and I have a suitable place to wire in a start button as a on/off switch. marzman
Fantastic. From Keysers teardown thread, I dont think there's enough left of Grundy's engine to build one of these is there?
Ekona
Coaster, maybe
Keyser
That has come out a treat mate Only thing is I need that block back now Great work - I'm thinking of doing a wine rack with Grundy's block - it has ventilation holes in as well to keep the air circulating
