Ceejay29
Hi, I have bought a second hand Bi-xenon and would like to test it. Can I hook it up to a battery to check works or does it have to be fitted to the car? Thanks
Tricky-Ricky
No! it needs to be connected to a ballast or it will end up useless.

KyleR
I assume the light came with a ballast? Should be attached to the bottom of the lamp.
Ceejay29
Oh err erm....better check that one Kyle!! Presume that it did but at the price I paid it probably didn't
Tricky-Ricky
A bulb wont come with a ballast, unless you bought them both new or used,Just so you know what they look like.. Edited January 10, 2015 by Tricky-Ricky

Tricky-Ricky
Sorry but to me a "second hand Bi-xenon" would indicate a bulb and not a complete headlight terminology makes a big difference. Apologies to Ceejay29 for the confusion, But to reiterate then if its a complete unit then yes hook it up to a battery. Tricky-Ricky
Unfortunately due to the plug configuration you would be best off just removing your original headlight and plugging it in to test, however if you have the manual with plug pin configuration you could test with a couple of wires and a battery.
