350zed1993
So its service time for my Z and this is the first one of many (hopefully). Problem is im not sure what sort of service it should have. Service record as follows: 23/06/06- 2798MILES - P1 28/12/06 - 11709MILES- UNKNOWN 17/12/07- 18468MILES - P1 03/12/09- 33583MILES- P1 02/03/10- 37070MILES- P3 28/12/11- 46165MILES- P1 16/04/12- 57706MILES- P2 17/01/14- 76921MILES- P1 Am I right in thinking I should go for a P3 ? I have called my local Nissan dealer (Colchester, Essex) and they wanted £415. Seems a bit steep to me. Would it be cheaper if I got a local mechanic to do it but buy the genuine parts myself? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jake
jimboy2
Where abouts in the country are you? 415 is very steep. Find a specialist and use them or if your competent enough service it yourself.
KyleR
You're gonna have a big one unfortunately. Of course you could just change the oil, filter and air filter and it'll not explode, but going by the fact that the previous owner didn't service it for 2 years and 20k I would certainly be taking it to a good indy and getting almost everything done. Oil Oil filter Air filter Brake fluid Coolant Spark plugs Diff and gearbox oil is optional, but if you can afford it, do it.

Zedd
Dont use Nissan! They'll just rip you off. I bought the service kit off ClarkMotorsport, and got my local mechanic to do it when i got my 350. Cant fault ClarkMotorsport, helpful and very speedy at sending the parts out

350zed1993
Think the best option is to buy the parts and get a local mechanic to do it.

SteveM
my drive to see him is 55 miles and just about an hour. google tells me that colchester to there is 65 miles and 1 hour 10 so you are not much further than me and i know guys that travel a LOT further to see Sly. very much worth the travel to have someone who knows what they are looking at working on your car and who wont rip you off to do so or come up with a list of jobs that "need doing urgently" that really dont need doing at all..... brillomaster
+1 on traveling a bit to see a specialist - especially for a full service. might not be so worried if it was just an oil change but for a full service i'd rather take it to someone who knows zeds. plus, its a great excuse to put some miles on your new motor!
