VRRacing
My JDM 350z I picked up the other day has these Akebono brakes fitted. They Look big enough and seem ok but I've only been on the motorway so far. So are these considered a good upgrade from the brembos, i hear the JDM ones were a bit rubbish? Or will I be wanting to upgrade after visiting the track? Also if I am keeping them, how easy are replacement pads discs to come by, do I just look for 370z ones? 370Ad
Brakes are far superior to the Brembos. And the best thing is you can just look for standard 70 discs and pads!
Keyser
Damn you 370Ad - I was going to tell him how crap they were and offer to PX them for some nice Brembos (cash my way of course) You go and spoil it by telling him how good they are @ OP - They are great brakes mate
VRRacing
Good to hear. At first I was a bit meh about them as I have 2 spare sets of ds3000 pads for the UK brembos. Same as a JDM Civc FD2:) can always sell them I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ceejay29
Upgraded my JDM's for Akebono's. Simple mod and a huge difference.

VRRacing
Will the discs have been changed with the callipers? When ordering discs am I after 350z or 370z or what? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bodyboarder81
Yes, look on fleebay or buy a new set. Where from new? Nissan ?
andlid
Nissan should have them not sure to be honest, some traders do them. Not sure about UK though. Would be slightly surprised if they dont a new set from the US set you back about 1500$ + shipping, that would be pads and discs inclusive. Call nissan I would be interested to see how much it is from them. I would setup a query on Ebay and wait...
VRRacing
Think I'm going for a big brake up grade and getting rid of the 370z Akebono brakes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Adrian@TORQEN
I found the Akebono with DS2500 very capable for the TT 370z on the road. However, if you're building a track / race car, I understand. Let us know if you need help sourcing the BBK.
