Had a bit of a blast out today at Oulton Park. The Z performed well, feels good driving a RWD for a change. A really good turn in and very stable. Heal and toe is a must:)can't wait till the rest of the mods have been done.

Right I've taken my Z on track for the 1st time for a bit of a shake down. The only things that are somewhat lacking are the tyres which are now seriously upgraded and on new Rota grids and the brakes. So thinking a decent set of pads will probably sort things right out. Can't get my usual Ferodo DS3000 pads so look about I quite like the look of the Project Mu

Have you had a chance to get it on the scales yet ?

Some brake pad ideas... (hear good things about Project Mu when I was looking around)

Carbotech (specifically XP8/XP10/XP12 iirc)

Endless

Personally I like to use EBC, I think their Orange stuff pad is the race/trackday version but I've no idea how they perform.

(I want to try out Carbotech at some point)

Can't imagine there's much in it. Don't know how much the OEM Rays weigh but the Grids seem pretty decent weight wise. Without spending a fortune that is. Wouldn't put EBCs on my nieces push bike, already ordered the project Mu pads and the Rotas are on the car so no looking back on either front. Seriously considering the Project Mu two piece discs next. Biiiiiiiiig costs though. Will look at alternatives first.

Been too busy with work to progress with the race car of late:( I suspect it'll all get done shortly though.

I've gone down a totally different route for brakes now. Will hopefully have some pics in the near future. I did get some Mu's but I've not taken them out the wrappers, just going to sell them on.

Some shiny bits arrived today though. dd89b25d638b74091e8cbeb5c5d14239.jpg523ecb57a9a5c763bbed3c4bf94a2cee.jpg4fb11033479c8019ade0074136428f51.jpgb400baf3f9cc7e0c5459d36a09a2e8a0.jpgb8d7b4abc6facc9593668edac7f74e49.jpg6a4bacd80be6f872ebf2934a434d8ab0.jpgfc4d7ea5d33954efe5a35cb2a05ca33e.jpgd1fe9ce1937c2ada8480d1ec72a5ad31.jpg

Finally got some time to go and pick the Z back up. Even stole an evening to fit my suspension bits. All went smoothly. Amazing how light the original parts are. The new adjustable bits are a tad heavier. I'll take some pics of the fitted bits later. Next job is to sort exhaust out. Hopefully before the first Time Attack

Well. Started fitting the kill switch, fire extinguisher system and fancy new time attack rain light/cool down lap light at the start of the week. Now all done. Tonight we had a go at dipping the car. Looks awesome! 9f7cffc81805529dbeee51799a6d0e18.jpgafb2a14102d0ab3da625540bb1d6ee13.jpgedcc788280409519d232a7ab9e075b71.jpg6fe602ba4fb909352c432b2745fdb174.jpg35e7061bf670f8d6c35120d42f2b0aef.jpg

Well here's the finished car dip. Was going to do the roof and bonnet a fancy blue colour. Don't think I'll bother now. It's come out even better than the FD2 did. Tomorrow morning is sticker time. 68e05d65d583f68be9e197dbb456e81e.jpg3fcf0571511a8feb74bb44222a4a5256.jpg82fe3ee693434cca4395aff9eeb773c0.jpg0f3db31918b86e6397087177424c6dcd.jpg3041c3c369fc300e848c4b8effc3fca0.jpgc3375086ac53529c58d4076d51525b81.jpg

Yeah we've done a couple of CarDips now. This and the Civic FD2. Both went on nice and smooth. The gun metal looked even better than the yellow on the civic. I did get a set of the PMU pads but then decided to go for a full BBK. All from CompBrake 2 piece floating discs all round 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears. The callipers look very nice and the current set up is very lacking. Hopefully they will arrive some time soon.
