liamgdr
I've sold many cars in the last few years, its never been to much trouble, one or two tyre kickers then someone buys. But I've had so many complete idiots phone and text me about my zed, does the car attract numptys (no offence) , I had one gentleman ask me how many owners it had, when I replied I'm the 4th he said Im looking for a car with one, one owner! for an 11 year old car. I've currently got it advertised on Autotrader & Pistonheads, unfortunately I've not got enough posts to sell on here. Im not sure if its allowed in the forum rules but heres my adverts: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201412139628645/sort/default/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/make/nissan/model/350_z/usedcars/postcode/nr189nd/page/1/radius/1500/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/colour/grey?logcode=p http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/350z/nissan-350-z-v6--------------------2004/3185705 Any pointers to make it more appealing? Cheers, Liam.
veeg33
I think a stubby antenna will make it more appealing Joke aside, good luck with the search. Maybe start a thread here on the 'Zed for sale' section

14N
Looks like a good car, low miles for year and well priced. I think your biggest hurdle is the fact you're trying to sell a (relatively) high powered RWD car, in winter, a week before Christmas. If you could hold onto it until spring, I'm sure a car in that condition would sell for the price you're after no problem. It's the best colour too

GMballistic
I'd also add a picture of the engine bay Liam ~ not that I think it will increase the chances of a sale all that much it's just something I like to see in for sale ads for cars. Ekona
Okay, you seriously need more detail in that advert. I'm working off the PH one as it's much more user friendly. First off, make the first pic this one: That shows the car in the light, much more attractive shot. Now, change that text as a single paragraph is hard to read. List your things out, so like this: XXXXX miles MOT expires XX-XX-XX Last serviced XX-XX-XX Where where the services done? (why did the car go 5000 over one service interval?) When were the services done? When did you do the mods? Are the tyre sizes correct? Where were the mods installed? Etc As much as I hate to pimp myself, this was my ad on here. Now the PH version had more pics, and I know a 911 has more options, but that should give you an idea of what I would expect to see in a decent advert. The more detail you give them, the less chance you have of numpties ringing up and asking silly questions.

I'll change the picture and restructure the add, but I can't answer where the exhaust was fitted as it was done by the 2nd owner, surely the correct tyre size is a given, can't answer the service question either as I've only owned the car for just over a year, I'll rewrite the add and put as much info in as I can. 350zedd
Don't give up hope just yet! I was searching for a zed for 3 months and spotted one on Ebay over xmas last year. Picked it up first week in January. I wasn't bothered about the time of year, just waiting for the right one to show up. Other discerning buyers might have a similar attitude
liamgdr
Is it best to lower the price to what Im actually expecting to take but state no offers, or keep the price as it is and expect several hundred quid being knocked off? I'd imagine if I lowered it, the offers would just get lower as well.

I was actually the same, I bought the car in december myself.
350zedd
I'd always add a few hundred quid above what you would accept. Makes the buyer feel that they've negotiated a discount

Buyers always want and expect to get a car cheaper than the advertised price ! Edited December 20, 2014 by Wayne370Z

Buyers always want and expect to get a car cheaper than the advertised price ! Yeh, I'l keep as is. I've just had a new thought, If I lease a cheap eco car rather than buying one, I could keep hold of the zed until summer, then sell it for abit more. What are the laws on insurance/tax, it used to be as long as its SORN then there was no need to insure or tax it but I think they might have changed it recently, any idea? Commander
If SORN you have to keep off the road, don't need tax or MOT, and insurance is up to you.

Oh right, just as it used to be then, I'm sure something changed when they introduced the new tax law?
Ekona
If it's taxed, it must be insured. That was the change
Commander
You also have to remember to renew the SORN declaration every 12 months, but it doesn't sound like that'll be a problem for you.
GMballistic
Personally though Liam even if you're not using the Zed I wouldn't leave it uninsured. If it caught fire, got stolen or whatever you'd be well & truly screwed.
