Grundy
#nohomo but meeting some great life long friends this year from the forum. Didn't expect all this from buying the Zed, but made some awesome friends from it. #nohomo #teamtarmac
chirag1988
Highlights for this year include my first Japfest and Wales trip getting to know more people on the forum and having mini local meets with fellow zedders. Also the mods I've done along the way, best of them all my full exhaust system Not-so-good points are picking up 6 points on my previously clean licence from the Wales trip and almost writing off my zed and my daily by forgetting the zed was in gear, stepping in to turn it on and lifting my foot off the clutch only for it to shoot straight out of my drive heading towards my polo parked across the road, only stopping inches from it when I managed to wrench my foot free from the clutch and slamming on the brakes! Biggest brown pants event ever with the zed
sipar69
Collecting my nismo... Without a doubt Same here. As with most Zs you don't get the full effect till you see them in the flesh. For us it involved a ttree month wait then a five o'clock am start to drive all the way to Barnsley, but it was all worth it on the drive home. Ownership has been a real pleasure since. Sam Mcgoo
^^ Hope you entered one of those Scotland pictures for the calendar competition Sam, ...love the red sunset shot. Well.........I may have. Although, I may have picked the wrong one. It may have took me so long to decide whether I should enter the best picture, or the one with the most car in it, since its a car club calender. Time will tell. Rock_Steady
Highlight for me this year has been, being able to mod my zed quite extensively without my wife knowing anything about it.
AndyG8nby
Highlights include buying my Z in March Meting and becoming friends with the guys at Falcon Performance for all my Z related Needs! Lake Z was fantastic and looking forward to next year already. This forum and making new friends. The only bad thing I can think of is the amount of money I need to spend to get the Z where I want it
Commander
Euro Road Trip 2014 (write up here - http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/89972-euro-road-trip-2014-write-up-photos/) was brilliant! Despite being as sick as a parrot for a chunk of it, the driving was excellent, the company (in the form of an M3, Honda-powered Lotus, an RX8 and an A3) was excellent, the food was er, interesting, the roads in Spain were great, the alps were BRILLIANT and cooking my brakes (a lot! stupid RBC yellow stuffs) made me slow down and look at the scenery more, the autobahns were brilliantly fast (Got to the red-line in 5th and it still kept pulling in 6th), and crashing a rental car at the nurburgring also forms part of that story too... d'oh! Ups and Downs! :-) Great year. I said to myself that I wouldn't do a road-trip in 2015, but looking back, I think I probably will do another to make it three consecutive years. brillomaster
To be honest its been quite a quiet year for my zed... haven't used it as much as i'd have liked, its mainly been doing mundane commuting. However other car related news, I've successfully met my target of doing 12 trackdays in 12 months in a combination of BMWs, that's taken up quite a few weekends! Commander
...I've successfully met my target of doing 12 trackdays in 12 months in a combination of BMWs, that's taken up quite a few weekends! ^^^ THIS - is my target for 2015 Did you do any writeups, etc? I guess its quite hard to achieve this?! Edited December 18, 2014 by Commander
brillomaster
ha, you have to be fairly committed to make it work, probably average £200 a day so that's at least £2400 spent on trackdays this year also fairly obviously you cant let the weather slow you down - in fact the only month we didn't do a trackday was actually july (but we did two in June) no write ups im afraid, at some point I might try and document it, but its basically been a) buy the cheapest, most powerful bmw you can off ebay strip out as much of the interior as you can c)fit better brake pads d) drive the nuts off it! ChrisS
Hopefully end of this week will be my best moment with my zed this year. What colour ? Then a lads weekend in the cars back in Wales. Cracking trips all with some great mates. The Saturday night was epic. (3/4 of a bottle of 7 year old Cuban rum.......... and that was just me) no write ups im afraid, at some point I might try and document it, Yourself, Ken and Will should do your own thead. Members would enjoy it. Been zed less for 14 months. But still had a great year meeting friends made on this forum. Chances of meeting them without this forum, probably imposssible. Ekona
I sold the best car I'll ever own: But I got to take her to Le Mans and watch Porsche's return to top class sportscar racing, and at least I can say I owned my dream car. In terms of Z-related stuff, I was fortunate enough to drive an incredibly well-sorted turbocharged 350Z, and it made me realise just what a great car the Zed actually is.
