keithvmx1200
I am only getting 20mpg around town and wondered if I cleaned the MAF it might help with the mpg.I wondered if its easy to do and has anyone on here done it themselves and do I need any special tools.. Dicky
I've had my car 10 yrs now and took the MAF out to clean it earlier this yr. It looked spotless to me but cleaned it anyway and it didn't seem to make any differance in any respect. Cleaned the throttle valve a few months ago which did make a big differance in the cars performance as it appeared to pull much harder etc. But no fuel economy gains in either case. I would have thought that 20 mpg around town is normal anyway.
GMballistic
I would have thought that 20 mpg around town is normal anyway. Would agree with that, ..in fact if that's start/stop traffic the whole way it's a pretty good MPG for town driving. I used to get around 17-19MPG at times in the worst of the stop/start traffic. keithvmx1200
Thanks for the info if 20mpg is normal then I will leave well alone and I am happy with getting 38mpg on a long run with the cruise control on. GMballistic
Enjoy the Zed Keith. With petrol prices slightly lowering as well MPG should be less of a concern.
keithvmx1200
With petrol prices down and shopping at Tesco for my weekly shop which gets me another 12p a ltr off I can afford to put my foot to the floor at least for a few seconds anyway. Regards keith Sounds good Keith. Remember though the Zed should only be run on Super Unleaded so make sure it's the Momentum99 you're using if getting fuel at Tescos.
