Voodoo Vix Posted December 11, 2014 Share Posted December 11, 2014 Its a GPS tracker lol When I first got him I lived in a flat so didn't have to worry about him roaming, but when I moved to a house he was so desperate to go out in the garden and explore (he was nearly 6 when I first got him and was 9 when I moved). He had previously been an outdoor cat when he was younger but I rehomed him as an indoor cat as he is disabled (he lost a leg the year before). Because of losing a backleg he can't jump very high (although has surprised us all on occasion) and I was worried about him getting out of our garden (he climbs the trellis like a ladder lol) and getting stuck somewhere so he can't get back again, with the tracker I just call it from my mobile (he has his own mobile number lol) and it cuts off the call and sends me back GPS coordinates on a google map link so I can find him and its pretty accurate. Just riding it for the first time. It was huge and I felt like I was wrapped around the petrol tank. I remember getting onto a by pass and pulling out to overtake a truck. I wrapped the throttle open fully and oh-my-god. I nearly shot my bolt there & then. The noise, the acceleration. I had not only overtaken the truck but about 3 cars before I backed off the throttle. Its an experience you cant really imagine unless you are a biker. It was like being strapped to a space shuttle. Even now, I still get a similar high/rush when im on my R1, but nothing will ever come quite as close to that first time. The other experience (why are they nearly always involving bikes/cars or birds?) was my first real proper girlfriend. I worked at a small company and this mega hot, fit blonde, Scandinavian bird started working there. The first day she turned up for work nearly every blokes jaw just dropped. She was single & every bloke there fancied her. She didnt help matters by wearing the shortest mini skirts ever and low cut tops etc. I wasnt overly interested in her tbh as I thought she was well above my league and so I was more interested in this other bird there. Anyway, the new bird organises a works night out to get to know everyone and before I know it shes made it extremely clear she fancies me and wants to go out with me! I couldnt believe my luck. We kept it quiet for a few weeks, but the looks on the blokes faces at work when they suddenly realise that we were dating was priceless. I felt like I had won the lottery and was walking on top of the world! And I didn't just win, I dominated... started with 18 players on two tables who'd qualified online, and by the time we went down to one table I had more than half the chips in play, so it was a formality that I would go on to win. Quite nice when two people go all in in front of you and then you look down at pocket kings... So that was a cool $20,000 payout for winning that, or about £10,600 at the time. used the winnings to buy the mother of al downhill mountain bikes, and my first car. and then a few years later, sold the bike and bought my first track car, which lead to a whole load of great experiences! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ekona Posted December 11, 2014 Share Posted December 11, 2014 Also finally doing Eau Rouge totally flat after two full Spa trackdays was a bit special Yeah, I'll have that one as well, although for me it wasn't just taking it flat (that's easy in an MR2 with no power!) it was the first time I went up it on a sighting lap: Proper spine tingling stuff, when you're sat there recalling the duals in F1 etc over the years. Maybe a bit big headed this next one, but another one was this year when me and the lads went to Donington for a trackday for my mate's 40th, and people threw me the keys to their cars to take them out as I knew the track better than they did. To a single man, they all came back in a little bit trembly and commenting that they had no idea how I could go that fast in a car I didn't know. Yes, massive ego boost, but I'd always considered them all to be much quicker and better drivers than me for the 12 years I've known them, and now to be considered as 'the fast one' amongst us was quite a nice feeling. Highlight was going to the Twins Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio. The largest annual gathering of Twins in the world! (Just under 2 000 sets of twins this year). They tend to behave more like dogs than cats and spend a lot of time upside down It seems Timmy the Tripod Tabby and his Tracker have made quite an impression lol The subscription for tracking his routes is only a recent thing (it now has an app lol) so I haven't paid for this yet as I'm waiting for another tracker for our little madam, Hammy. She is quite a bit smaller than Timmy so I'm waiting for their new micro ones, but will post up trails when I have them. Yep Sipar, Hammy's a shorthair but she likes upside down too lol You can get cameras for collars but I didn't want too much weight on his neck. Also although he's not a hunter and doesn't even blink if a bird lands in the garden, he came in one day with blood round his mouth, in his chest hair and tail and on his feet, I was terrified it was his and searched him all over (he wasn't amused as he's not a cat you can pull about) only to find it wasn't his! My brother and I had a bit of a falling out and we didnt speak for 5 years, but then in 2011 we got in touch with each other again. I was going to the Nurburgring alone, but invited him with me, and he came! We had the best 48 hours ever, and have been inseparable again ever since. Second one, my now Wife and i have been together over 11 years, but for the first 9 she was waiting for British Citizenship. In 2009 there was a real threat that she was going to be deported, so with the help of an expensive Solicitor (thanks to Stanski on here for the tip!) we managed to win citizenship (and rightly so!). So in 9 years we hadnt had a holiday, but literally the day we got her first brittish passport we booked a weekend to Majorca, and as cheap/crappy as it looks to me now, it was the best holiday ever. Lastly, the first 6 months of this year were horrific for me work-wise. I was running a major project with Silverstone, and was doing 15 hours a day for 4 months straight at one point. However, the project ended up going live without a hitch, and being invited to the British Grand Prix for Hospitality was a sweet reward, which made it all worthwhile. The immense pride i felt, stood with the Directors of Silverstone drinking Champagne watching Lewis round the last corner on the final lap is absolutely priceless to me, and personally i think is my favorite moment. 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Its a Pawtrax 2 from here http://www.pawtrax.co.uk/ , Timmy's is now about 3 years old but still going strong, but they do newer versions, I'm waiting on the micro for our other, smaller, cat.
