Every time I press my brake pedal when I start driving my abs traction and skid lights all come on and stay on and also my brake light are really dim and sometimes they stop working aswell. Winter is coming and I really need my traction working and my brake light . Thank you
The Seasider
Could be as simple as a warning that there's a problem with your brake light circuit - such as the bulb or brake switch OBD reader should give you a clue if you know someone who's got one. -Bradders-
i had this it was a brake light bulb out.could be the brake light pedal switch? or it could be that the brake fluid is low.
Tricky-Ricky
Yes bulb faults are tied into the CANbus system, so worth getting a reader on it to check the code.
Sam Mcgoo
Also make sure your brake fluid is on MAX, anything lower can cause these issues.
Ebized
Also make sure your brake fluid is on MAX, anything lower can cause these issues. +1........often is the issue
Gudzy
As you mention the brake lights are dim I'd suggest its probably the brake pedal switch, really easy to change and doesn't cost much. I had those lights come on and dim brake lights and it turned out it was the brake pedal switch.
ZMANALEX
What Bradders has said.. Start with the brake fluid level and make sure that it is on max with the filter removed. Alex
HEADPHONES
https://cornerbalance.wordpress.com/2013/01/26/diy-350zg35-brake-lights-dont-work-aka-the-easiest-install-youll-ever-do/ I had the exact same problem. Check out the switch behind the brake pedal. You may be lucky and it just came loose when vacuuming around the mats there in which case just undo and re tightened. Takes minutes to fix
