Joeycuz
Hi, just a quick one regarding insurance and mods. I bought my 2006 azure blue zed over the weekend and sorted the insurance out before I bought her. I told the insurance company that the car was standard but completly forgot The car infact has a Scorpion exhaust and aftermarket air filter. I phoned them this afternoon to let them know and they only wanted £30 extra to insure the mods. Does that sound about right to you? I've never declared mods in the past with my other cars but I guess I've been lucky really. Have any Of you guys ever had problems getting mods insured? Jetpilot
Never been refused insurance because of mods, so no problems, but yes it will add to your premium.
Will370z
Yes it will likely add to the premium and yes you should tell them
rjohnson1993
Sounds about right, obviously any mod will put your premium up slightly and you should always declare, personally i've never had any issues getting insured with them so i dont see why you should be any different
Payco
FYI. Mine is insured with Flux. They charge me £26 extra to cover all my mods AND for the extra £26 I have a fixed valuation of £12k as I dont want market value for it should the worse happen. JB-)
Well Direct Line wanted an extra 260 odd quid (that's two hundred and sixty something) from me if I fitted an after market exhaust, so 30 quid sounds cheap to me!

chrisday1990
If you can say yes, yes, no, no to all these questions then you should not have to pay a penny but some could be a pain, most important thing is that they know. 1) Is the Exhaust made for a 350z and 350z only? 2) Is this a stainless steel system? 3) Does this improve the performance of the car in any way? (from old cat back this should have no affect) 4) Does the system breach the road traffic noise regulation? (i.e is it chav boy racer) I only know of this because I spoke with an insurance underwriter at Swift Cover, The resonated Cobra mid pipe and back box fit the above criteria and at no expense on insurance. Ekona
Erm, I think you might have that wrong. I would suggest that if you answer yes to 3 and 4, then you're absolutely going to pay more.
