Ross Mac
Hi - After 6 months of Z ownership she is now due a P1 service (whatever that entails) and Im wondering if anyone on here knows any good garages in the Newcastle area. I have a couple of questions though: 1. How much of a difference does having a Nissan stamp in the book make when it comes to resale? If I use a independent Nissan specialist will that do just as well as a dealer? 2. What is involved in a P1 service - I believe that if you supply your own oil that the price drops? What oil is best to use? Any other money saving tips? Cheers Ross
Stew
Big Phil? P1 is basically oil and filter change. I used amsoil along with many others and it's great. Good deals to0 with the discount code available from the mods! Any competent garage that you feel comfortable with should be fine. I did mine myself with a mate from a performance (mainly porsche) garage. I'd rather put it somewhere I could trust than an overpriced micra spanner monkey! I think that's about as much money as you could save to be honest!
Ross Mac
Just reactivating this thread of mine with another couple of questions which I am sure your guys will have no bother answering!! My mate works at an Audi dealership in Newcastle and he says that he can service the Z no bother on his day off in their workshop. All he needs is the various parts and their respective part numbers so he can source them, or if he cant get them I get them and get him to fit them. I am aware the P1 service is a oil and filer change - so I take it I will need 1 x Oil Filter 1 x Standard Air Filter / Upgraded One. (May have a JWT by then if the posties ever stop striking) Oil ( Not sure which sort but any reccomendations appreciated.) Anything else I will need? Does anyone know where I can get the part numbers from, or a place where I can order them from? many thanks in advance

Ross Mac
I tried putting in P1 and servicing but got loads and loads of results... Thanks for that though it is a big help - seems as though amsoil say their filters are superior to Nissan's own brand so I'll have to investigate.... Now to the traders on here to see who can get me the bits I need...
