PPod
So fitted my plenum must be about a month ago opened the bonnet and its stinky looks like salt and grit on it. So tried cleaning it with brasso gave it a good clean but couldn't get the marks off it. So what's the best way to clean it and get it back to original look. Ekona
Autosol and some 00 wire wool, then just Autosol on a microfibre should work. Will take a while though! When you're done, get some LSP on it like FK1000P to protect it.
Darren-B
As Ekona said, assuming it is just polished. If however it is 'chromed' them aluminium foil & diet coke. (do not use this if it's just been polished)
Ekona
Good shout, I assumed polished but if it proper chrome then Darren's plan is spot-on
ZMANALEX
As what Dan and Darren has said above. Never quite understood why peeps polish these plenums as they are a mare to keep cosmetically pleasing to the eye.. Wasso
Okay sounds like your plenum has oxidised. Don't panic...... Best product and you'll have arms like bisons rear legs, but use AutoGlym Metal Polish. Autosol is too harsh and will cloud the finish. Mopedmark
Clean it once a week then it will not oxidise simples

PPod
Ohhh my dad has that autoglm metal polish left. Ok so once a week cheers
Wasso
If you apply a coating of wax (a wax with a higher content of carnauba) buff off, apply another coat 24hrs later and then buff, you'll avoid having to clean All the time. If you apply the wax every 4 weeks and clean with a speed detailer it won't oxidise.
