gangzoom
They are getting really cheap now!! It's madness most people see the 2.2 diesel as the more desirable version!! If you guys get a facelift SC 3.0 V6 let me know, have convinced my wife that the V6 is a more sensible option compared to the diesels.....Trying to persuade her a 5.0 XFR is not even worth trying

Ekona
I had no idea the 5Ls were that cheap now, that's great news
spursmaddave
Have you got a link Ben, I think it may be a 4.2 classic not a 5l though... I think they only did the Kyanite blue for a year same as the porcelain that my XFS is
spursmaddave
Anyway if you have a link I can post it on my Jag forum
benjy88
Dave, Thou doth test me on my knowledge!? The Kyanite Blue ran from 2008 (purely for the XFR initially), and then was adapted onto the facelift 2.2d Sport LE, before it was phased out for 13MY... Consider yourself schooled Sir... Anyway, here's the link: http://www.harwoods.uk.com/jaguar/used-cars/14937/jaguar-xf/ More photos of it going up this week once our photographer has been! Drove it home the other day... feels like a RWD Audi S4 (with lots more character)
Ekona
That's a heck of a lot of car for that money.

Yes I know the CVT transmission is rubbish, and in real life driving it's not going to hit anywhere near the claimed 64mpg, but it is cheap to tax/run, decent number of toys, and unlikely to leave the wife stranded at the side of the road.....Have to TRY and remember the new car is for my wife and not for me Edited November 4, 2014 by gangzoom
spursmaddave
Did they put the 5l lump in the prefacelift then, thought it was only the 4.2 everyday is a schoolday
benjy88
Indeed... the XFR only ever had the 5.0L. It was the XF SV8 that had the 4.2L...

spursmaddave
As for the 3l s/c yes a lovely smooth engine but the car is suited much more to the 3l turbo diesel, even more so the S. I think if petrol is a must then it has to be the XFR
