Suzi to retire from daily commute.... (Wendy the new addition)

No it's not some sort of porn story, but yesterday I put a deposit down for my new daily shed. She's got 60k miles, auto box for the M4 traffic jam every morning, luxury and a 2.4 TD purring engine (well it's purring for now) :)

Pick her up tomorrow morning, and looking forward to the relaxing cruise home.

Suzi won't be left out in the cold as she will get a once a week Friday sprint until January where she will then be coming off the road for a heart transplant and facelift (don't all girls  )

Advert pictures but once I've given her a good polish I'll post up some nicer pics.

I guess this now makes me a true petrol head for owning a Alfa :yahoo: please be nice to her she is Italian and doesn't understand Japanese.

Welcome Wendy to the family

So what have you bought to replace the Alfa when it breaks down then? ;)

I said be nice to her. Man-oh-man! Nothing like a stab in the ribs for the poor girl.

Done my research and the prone issues have already been replaced. Everything works, drives like a dream. Nice box and fairly swift.

She will be just fine Dan :)

Well Wendy is not a very Italian name :stir:

Enjoy Ian, hope you RAC/AA membership is up to date

You should call her Alfonsina :D the Alfa

If you squint your eyes at the number plate it almost reads Wendy, so that's how that happened.

Although I may call her "you little ****er" for not being reliable. We shall see.

RAC fully up to date, not used it for a long while so I should have plenty of recoveries available at my disposal

Looks tidy mate and finally realising that black is the best colour ;)

You could be right there Steve.

I'm already on the look out for upgrading some bits.

I'll take the new tyres off, donate them to a Gokart track and get some winter tyres shoved on. Then get some nice wheels for the summer with some MPS's - they are such a brilliant tyre.

My brother has an oil burner Alfa - one of his issues is that you need to clear the soot filter properly or about every 2 years it'll cost you about £400 to replace it.

The fix is fairly strainghtforward - you've got to burn the filter out with a good hard run at least once a month, so not all bad news

It's still cost him about £3K in repairs over the last 4 years, but if you buy an Alfa I guess you must expect that . . . .

My mate had/has a 159 diesel manual, the whole engine ate itself last month and is currently awaiting to be disposed of.

But yeah, I'm sure Wendy will be fine :D

Sooooo, I took a morning out (with the Mrs as the taxi driver) and collected said 159 from Frimley Green on Sunday.

Here she is sat outside the house with Suzi, don't they look sweet

I can't believe how comfy the ride is, how relaxed, and a nice place to be. All I needed was a Hamlet cigar and I'd have thought I was at home. No noise, no bumps, no exuberant accelerating, just smooth chilled out driving. I hope I'm not getting old

Managed to get 45mpg from the relaxing drive, so already saving some pennies
