She's got 60k miles, auto box for the M4 traffic jam every morning, luxury and a 2.4 TD purring engine (well it's purring for now) Pick her up tomorrow morning, and looking forward to the relaxing cruise home. Suzi won't be left out in the cold as she will get a once a week Friday sprint until January where she will then be coming off the road for a heart transplant and facelift (don't all girls ) Advert pictures but once I've given her a good polish I'll post up some nicer pics. I guess this now makes me a true petrol head for owning a Alfa please be nice to her she is Italian and doesn't understand Japanese. Nothing like a stab in the ribs for the poor girl. Done my research and the prone issues have already been replaced. Everything works, drives like a dream. Nice box and fairly swift. Although I may call her "you little ****er" for not being reliable. We shall see. I'm already on the look out for upgrading some bits. I'll take the new tyres off, donate them to a Gokart track and get some winter tyres shoved on. 350 Russ Posted November 1, 2014 Share Posted November 1, 2014 don't listen to them!!! i ran my 156 for 2 years with no bother apart from a cam sensor, and even with that throwing up a CEL it still drive and started fine everytime. ianphampton Posted November 1, 2014 Share Posted November 1, 2014 My brother has an oil burner Alfa - one of his issues is that you need to clear the soot filter properly or about every 2 years it'll cost you about £400 to replace it. The fix is fairly strainghtforward - you've got to burn the filter out with a good hard run at least once a month, so not all bad news It's still cost him about £3K in repairs over the last 4 years, but if you buy an Alfa I guess you must expect that . . . . My mate had/has a 159 diesel manual, the whole engine ate itself last month and is currently awaiting to be disposed of. Here she is sat outside the house with Suzi, don't they look sweet I can't believe how comfy the ride is, how relaxed, and a nice place to be. All I needed was a Hamlet cigar and I'd have thought I was at home. No noise, no bumps, no exuberant accelerating, just smooth chilled out driving.
