jimmy.farrow7
Im always so careful when it comes to reverse parking and reversing round corners but the other day I slightly curbed my passenger Rota when reversing round a tight corner as some impatient pr#@k in a q7 wouldnt reverse back a touch so i had a tighter angle. I will now need to get it refurbished ASAP to get back to the immaculate condition of the other 3, anyone know any decent places in norfolk area. My girlfriend said whats the point, so we fell out!!!!
glrnet
Sorry, can't help you with the Norfolk question but when you say "fell out" I hope that means you finshed with her?
jimmy.farrow7
No we are currently on talking terms again but it did nearly ruin my birthday in london after she said its only a "car" haha
Wayne370Z
Similar thing happened to me when it was just a couple of months old. Gutted just doesn`t describe it does it ? Smart Auto repairs (from the interweb) did a brilliant and not too expensive a job and matched the strange colour of the GT Edition wheels exactly but I suppose it`s all down to the individual who covers your area. jimmy.farrow7
Mine are not even 7 months old and i have kept them all in immaculate condition as soon as I heard the noise my heart sank. Im not sure exactly the type of Rota they are GTR-Something I think. But they are quite different.
GMballistic
Could be worse Jimmy, ...when I got my Rotas I had only had them around two months before I scraped the rear passenger one down the side of a brick wall trying to get my wide a** Zed in one of those stupid tiny modern garages at my parents. I refurbed it myself on my driveway ~ got a decent colour match from a local wheel specialist first (close as they could get it). Then I used rough wet & dry paper (320 to start) working my way up to the finest I had (1000 grit) with plenty of soapy water. This got rid of all the gouges. I then hand painted a layer of primer on with an artists brush, followed by several coats of paint and then a lacquer. I know what you're thinking; "must look sh*t!" ....honestly though it doesn't and people can't even tell where the damage was after I fixed it. Saved myself the cost of having to have all four alloys refurbed as the wheel specialist I spoke to said there was no way he could colour match exactly to the other alloys so I would need all four done. Link to Rota touch up paint from Rare Rims on here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/89240-rota-touch-up-paint/ Good luck with it.

SteveM
had 4 19 inch GTRs refurbed in a lovely shadow chrome..... 1 year later 3 of them are curbed! 1 was my fault... pulling into a french toll booth trying to get far enough over for my misses to get the ticket out and the monster curbs that they have next to them jumped out and bit the nearside front... unhappy.. the other two my wife has come home and said sorry i wasnt concentrating... very unhappy i have left them for now but when it comes to new tyres time (next spring) i will take the wheels and tyres to the same refurb place and get them all done at the same time does it pi$$ me off everytime i see the curb marks?.... yes... is it the end of the world?.... no... will it cost a lot to sort it?... no hey ho
pjf1985
I wouldn't have even reversed back if it meant risking curbing my wheels lol. Hope you get it sorted mate.
hensh65
It's only a car the line my misses wouldn't dare utter. If its not bad would you not rather just get touch up paint? My wheels are only a few weeks old and I am dreading the sound of grinding!!!
jimmy.farrow7
I didnt realise how tight it was until after it happened when i said to myself i should have just stopped

BulletMagnet
Seriously, you need to reconsider your taste in women. As soon as my other half said all them years ago "You ain't ever selling your car" I knew she had potential. We have now been married a year and the Zed is referred to as "The Mistress"

veeg33
I curbed mine within the first 15 minutes I brought the car. Was quoted around £45 to £150 per wheel to refurb. But ended up doing it myself with some fillers, sand papers, and spray can. Lucky it was just standard satin black colour that I can get from Halfraud. Does not blend in perfect but for less than £10, I think it's acceptable and not really noticeable now. 😎 Edited October 31, 2014 by veeg33

Yeah, show us the damage when you get a chance.
