GMballistic
liking the thread like the wheel wrench mod gonna have to borrow that idea Go ahead Andy ~ couldn't patent it as its not commercially viable to do so. No, still selling at the moment.. Going to ramp up the advertising to PH this week. As I've said in my other post, I don't want to sell it but want the money invested in it to do other things with my life you never know, something might crop up where I don't need to sell it and I'm hoping it does! That's a real shame but if need's must Ian. Keep buying those lotto tickets as you never know, ..it could be you. Looking good I really hope the photo of your roof lining is a crap pic and it's not really pink Thanks. Anyway, what's wrong with pink Graham, ...pretty sure I've seen a picture of you on here wearing pink!. It is white though really yes. GMballistic
Excellent thread, Gareth, your Zeds a credit to you... Thanks Mitz. Still love my alloys, ...one of the best decisions I made was getting those from you. Jez & Craig at Horsham Developments for all their hard work on my Zed. Thanks Gareth - you've got a very tidy car there Cheers Jez ~ wouldn't be as good without the help from you & the guys at Horsham Developments, so thanks again. Nice work GM! Very tidy and smart liking zed. Very creative with the wrench mod. Keep the pics comingí ½í± Thanks for all your help along the way Bennett. Really appreciate the time you spent advising me on supercharger matters. Loving this, car looks fantastic. Makes me want new wheels! Thanks Davey ~ well you have a good idea where to look for new alloys. Made such a difference to my car looks & handling wise. Big improvement.

Don't have a lot of pictures specifically of the wheels but will these below help? The one above was originally a bigger picture that I cropped so the qualities not great but you can see the colour well which is what I assume you're after. Good write up so far Gareth. Cheers for the mention and been a pleasure answering your questions. Looking forward to the interesting stuff :drive1and how its all come together. Thanks Sam and you're more than welcome a mention after answering so many of my little supercharger queries. Won't be long to the big reveal so to speak although the "ending" as such is no surprise with the thread title as it is.

ilogikal1
Gareth, I want you to know that I'd made my mind up about what colour my wheels were going today. Then I've seen these posts regarding yours wheels. And now I've undecided. But this time it's your fault. That is all.

Why not just write down your favourite three colours, put them all in a hat when you drop the car off at the wheel specialists for the refurb. Then the painter just pick's one piece of paper out of the hat and you get a surprise when you pick up the car.
ilogikal1
A cunning plan, I may just have to resort to that. Except now you've got me wondering about other wheels instead. I do like the Grids, but I've also got my eye on a set of Volks too. My current circumstance doesn't exactly lend itself to splashing out on Volks (or Grids, or even painting the Rays for that matter) just now though so I've got plenty of time to change my mind a lot first. GMballistic
You could always do what I did to fund my s/c build and just start selling stuff you don't need or use anymore. Think I made around £1.5K+ on eBay this year in around 6 months odd just selling random stuff from my bedroom & garage. Not going to make you a millionaire but just might earn you enough cash for some new alloys, ...plus you can then sell on the old ones to recoup some more cash. ilogikal1
Depending on how long it takes to me to figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life, I may need to sell stuff (random belongings, wheels, Z and all) to buy food, let alone alloys - this time next month I'll be officially unemployed. The upshot of that is if I do sort myself out quickly I'll have a moderate redundancy payment to fund my desire for shiny things. Anyway, this thread is about your shiny things so get on with it. That sucks mate. Been there myself more times then I care to remember. Car can wait then. Good luck getting a new job and I really hope you get it all sorted quickly so you can enjoy some of that redundancy money.
ilogikal1
Cheers mate. I do take great solace in knowing that my last act for the company that I've worked for, for 11 years will be to spend nearly 3 weeks on holiday, in the sun though.

GMballistic
^^ Glad you liked it, ..I did wonder if wrapping it in the birthday pink wrapping paper might have been a bit OTT but thought f**k it, might give you a laugh in work. GMballistic
Ok so after having my UpRev done and getting the new alloys on I decided to sit back and enjoy my Zed for what it was. So did very little for awhile except a lot of this.... That lasted a short while before I started making my big "secret" plans. I didn't want to advertise what I was planning and slowly I started to do my research on the subject of supercharging the VQ35DE motor. At first I started by reading as many of the build threads from other members that had supercharged their Zeds ~ particularly good threads for this where octets, the chubby ninja, Vlads, Darren-B, and evilscorp. Thanks guys. This then led me into the "forced induction" section of the forum where I started to learn more valuable information especially in the "Vortech supercharging technical & reliability" thread which holds some great pointers with regards to pitfalls, fixes & the important PCV for the Zed. I also started looking at "my350z.com" an American site which has an incredible 109 page thread dedicated to Vortech information. Learned so much from reading my way through that. Now that I felt I had enough knowledge behind me to start seriously looking at this I began by making a comprehensive list of parts and possible extras I may also need so that I could budget for as much as possible including possibly unforeseen outcomes. Anyway this didn't occur overnight and in the mean time I was still addicted to this place like a crack baby is to crack so couldn't help but carry on with some non performance related mods after reading other members threads. This time it was Lyndzzz who made me do it. ^^ Cr*p picture I know but it was Friday night and I was drinking lager so it looked ok at the time. Painted gloss black upper plenum. Tbh I was pretty pleased with how it turned out, ..mainly because, I decided, either because of pure skill or just laziness that I'd paint it without removing the strut brace bar like a normal person would have but also because I was slightly inebriated at the time. More to follow....
GMballistic
Ok so now I had my list of parts that I definitely needed for my supercharger install as well as a list of "possible" extras that I may need. There where of course lot's of things I'd like to have done but as I don't earn all that much I had to be sensible and budget for what I could afford at first to get the bare minimum needed for a safe reliable s/c set up. Other things could follow later when funds allowed. With this in mind I set my budget and started contacting various parts suppliers, ...mainly traders on the forum tbh as I found these to be giving the best prices around on the specific parts I was after. Started small at first; "Nismo low temperature thermostat" from Clark Motorsport for a bargain £50 delivered. Thanks again Ewen. That got the ball rolling though and was quickly followed by an absolute bargain deal from eBay: a "Mishimoto 19 row oil cooler kit" . It came direct from Mishimoto UK so I knew all was good but the only problem was that I had wanted a "thermostatic oil sandwich plate" version of this kit for my build but I couldn't pass this one up on eBay as the price was just too good. Besides with the money I saved it was more than enough to buy the thermostatic sandwich plate separate and have some change left over afterwards. Next up was a red set of Mishimoto silicone coolant hoses. I had intended to leave these off my build but it seemed daft not to do them at the same time in part because I knew I would need new coolant after having the low temperature thermostat fitted but also because I still had the original Nissan hose's fitted so didn't want one of them to go & spoil my fun. I also then got a Samco stainless steel jubilee style hose clip pack as it would be a shame to have fitted them with the nasty old OEM clips. With my parts collection slowly increasing I thought I was done with anything else but after reading that Vlad had stopped dipping parts for the 350Z owners a deal was done with him to buy some old interior parts for my Zed that he was selling off. I bought those so that I could send away those parts for dipping, leaving me free still to drive my Zed without stripping out the interior. I contacted AquaGraphix to do the dipping as they are fairly local to me and I wanted to support a local firm ~ plus they do very good work at a reasonable price. Link: https://www.aquagraphix.co.uk/ I asked them to match a carbon fibre part which I already had in my Zed that a previous owner had fitted.... ..this wasn't a problem & they could have done it but then I saw some more carbon fibre dipped parts. I then decided to go with a black base coat, covered with a gold carbon fibre weave sealed in with a clear gloss lacquer. Out with the old... In with the new...
