Will370z
Played it for about 5 years. Amazing game and nothing has touched it since or will. Made some great friends through it too. However, i've now been clean of it for the past few years and for the sake of my social life and sanity i am not going anywhere near it again. But i do have very fond memories.

Will370z
Loved the game. I remember vanilla and huge battles between Southshore and Tarren Mill. Getting a group and running all the way to SM and trying to avoid being ganked. The adrenaline rush as you stealth up to an alliance player and take them out as a rogue. Defending ironforge from the horde, raiding cross roads for the first time. The first time we completed MC. Going fishing in winterspring for mats and getting ganked. Calling in a rogue friend to protect me, and he did by killing the guy, who then called in a fiend of his. 30 minutes later there was a full scale war going on Brilliant game
mouthwash
Yeah, I've played it on and off since release.. My best memories of the game is from vanilla. You can still love it Will, it will love you back like it has always done. It's not fickle, it doesn't care about your past transgressions.. WoW is willing to forgive you for the low low fee of £9.99 a month (sub fee is going up!!).
Grundy
http://youtu.be/IHJVolaC8pw Probably one of my favorite videos - If you're wondering what's going on - Someone IRL died, and had lots of friends and people they knew on World of Warcraft, so the server they were on decided to host a funeral for them. And basically they did it in a PVP area, and the other faction found out about it and came and fudged @*!# up
docwra
Always fancied it but never allowed myself (see also Championship Manager, any online RPG), but I love that video ............ out of interest, what would the "funeral" have consisted of? Just standing around or can you interact and stuff? And when they all got killed, were their characters dead or do they regenerate somewhere? Neilp
Never played it but heard lots about it!
mouthwash
Basically, stand around chatting paying your respects, doing things the deceased liked to do on the game etc... When they died in the game they either run to their corpse and respawn or choose to take a penalty (-stat decrease for x time) and resurrect at the spirit/graveyard. I think you should at least give the free trial a go Docwra...

I think in this instance there was an exception and a special event was setup. There's Mods/Admins same as this forum in the game, that you can talk to (Basically a Customer Service in game) and I think the organizer appealed to them, and they set all this up. They even placed the users characters body in the water. Then while they are all queuing to pay there respects to the IRL person, the other faction had been charging across the map to find this secrete location which was held in a PVP section (Basically there are certain areas in the world where you can attack the opposing faction without turning pvp on or off) and basically just started a massive fight Totally inappropriate but at the same time funny There is nothing more annoying than when you're trying to do something and someone shows up and kills you
mouthwash
Incorrect good sir, the character if I recall was logged on to by one of his friends so that everyone could come along and say goodbye.
Mudman
Yep been back on a while on Lightbringer, have 80's on both factions but after a 4 year break leveling a Worgen Rogue (61) and a Pandaren Windwalker (20)at the moment. Main was a hunter thern went Shadow Priest, Warlock, DK, Shaman Just love the headless horseman is still in the game. Mist of Pandaria now free so will get that completed before buying WoD. I purposely didn't want to go straight into raiding as that's when you lose control !!! I'm over here you idiot ........
