chuck69
Good evening zeders! Not for me it ain't,i've lost my keys..doh! and have no spare(double doh!!) So how much is it going to cost me to get a new key?
Ebized
If it a UK supplied ZED you should go to a Nissan dealer with the VIN number/proof of car ownership and hopefully they will have the key details on the database. If it is an import I'm not sure what you can do, other than ask the importer if you know who they were and if they can help you.
veeg33
I got quoted around £170 from Nissan Pentagon to duplicate a set.
ianphampton
If it's a JDM import. . . . .what do you call it when you rotate a plane around a central axis in a helix - you're screwed. Most import cars only come with a single key and the UK dealers can't code a blank as it's a different set (or something) . They can order one from Japan, but the cost was £399 (when I enquired about 4 years ago. Ouch.
chuck69
thanks, luckily it's not a JDM . So i wouldn't need to get a recovery truck to take it to the nissan dealer,i could just take car details is that right?
Ebized
I believe so, apart from whether there is an issue registering the key with the car's alarm/immobiliser, but why not ring them to find out for sure? Also, check your insurance - you may find the cost is covered without affecting your NCB

Grundy
When I had my Golf, I lost my only key on the roller coaster at Thorpe Park They couldn't find it. So I called up a local lock smith specialist (local to slough) and they came out, had a computer in the back of the van, coded it all unlocked my car - £200 lighter and I could drive away. Why slough?! Thorpe Park is nowhere near slough Chertsey or stains would probably have been better

chuck69
just phoned my local dealer in southampton £155 for 1 key (key has to be ordered 3 day wait) £51 for programming and yes they need the car because of alarm/immobiliser issues and so another £50 for a recovery truck =£

It's always worth having a spare incase the same kind of thing happens again .
Ebized
Have you checked your insurance, and don't you have breakdown cover that would save on the £50 recovery truck fee?

ianphampton
Adrian Flux have Keycare built in to their policies - and you get a special fob to put on your keyring (So if you just lose the keys somewhere there's a £10 reward to whoever hands them in or calls the 24hr number so if someone honest finds them you stand a better chance of getting them back.)
