Posidrive
My driver side seat belt is sticking and not always retracting. Is there any way of sorting this out without a full replacement? Or at least something to try before the full replacement. It looks like a lot of trim panels would need to come out to get to it. Is there a guide somewhere. I definitely don't want to take apart any more than I absolutley have to. Any idea how much a replacement in the UK (Nissan or 3rd party) costs? In the US next week so Courtessy Nissan may be the way to go but always nervous about not getting the exact part number right? ZEUS
I think there is a post on here somewhere about pulling them all the way out and washing them in warm soapy water, try that first
ilogikal1
The tend to stick when they're dirty. It's worth trying to clean it before spending money on replacing anything. You'll need a couple of clothes pegs, a bucket of hot water with some washing (laundry) detergent in, a stiff brush and plenty of time. Unbolt the seatbelt at the bottom & extend the seat belt as far as it'll go. Use as many clothes pegs near the mechanism as it takes to stop it retracting again, close the door with the seat belt hanging out of it. Place the seat belt in your bucket of detergent and allow to soak for half an hour. Once it's socked, give it a scrub with the brush, wash it all off and then dry it as much as possible (towels, hair dryer, heat gun set on low are all useful for this) and then leave it to air/drip dry. Once it's bone dry, bolt it back up and allow it to retract.
bamdc2
My drivers side is getting like this. But it' so much effort to do all that just for a seatbelt! Maybe a job for next summer!
samsniss350z
My drivers side belt is also suffering from this problem, one of my 200SX S14's suffered from this as well, I just put it down to wear and tear but i'm definitely going to have a go at cleaning it if this solves the problem. kano
Mine had a similar issue, it turned out the belt was actually twisted. Compare your belt with the passenger side.
