AliveBoy
Timeline of events... Arrive at Driftcup to rain of Biblical proportions. Track is wet: Spend the morning trying to get the balls to initiate the drift before this lake to get the correct line. Decide that I need to initiate about 1/3 faster to get the correct amount of speed scrubbed off... Get to here before I realise that the puddle is now only a mm or so deep and I just went into the corner 1/3 faster than I should have done... Oh cr@p: Get back to the pits: Later that day: Some other pics:

AliveBoy
It was good, but my inexperience showed as I wasn't able to adjust to the constantly changing conditions fast enough. I was on the back hand all day and didn't make top 16 unfortunately. There was lots of people going into the gravel all day, some multiple times in a few places, luckily I only went in once!

At least it's given you some more experience to build off anyway. Not all about the winning anyway imo, ..more having fun and just taking part. What was drift cup like to compete in? How many rounds did you do? Are you still on standard lock? What was drift cup like to compete in? How many rounds did you do? Are you still on standard lock? Tom I only did the Lydden round, but Driftcup was awesome, really well run and the judges were great for advice etc. I'd honestly really recommend it. Lock is all standard for me, most of the car is really, I'm only now STARTING to get to where I need more. I'm going to the states in March so going to get some front adjustable camber arms in a hope that will help as I've been struggling with front end grip. I'll also invest in some better front tyres for next year too as I've been running budgets all year. I've never drifted anything other than this Z, so every event is a massive learning curve for me. Ebized
I've been struggling with front end grip. I'll also invest in some better front tyres for next year too as I've been running budgets all year. Reminds me of the days when I was into autotesting (using a Beetle then an Imp) and used the grippiest tyres I could find on the front to make the turns but well worn tyres on the rear to help do the 180/360's, especially on surfaces like airfields where the ribbed concrete made even the handbrake turns a challenge with the handbrake at lower speeds let alone getting those rear engined cars to piroutte around the cones. Mind you it was a balance in making sure there was enough tread on the tyres to last a meeting before the canvas put in an appearance
