mr_smith126
So this is by no means a major build thread.. just some minor fettling (famous last words). Smitherb
As a fellow Kuro GT4 owner I'll be watching your build thread closely. Just ordered spacers myself so nice to see what they will look like in your pics.

mr_smith126
Having looked at the pics again i've noticed the gaiter looks a little odd because the plastic piece is still in which gives the diameter of the old knob.. Can't see it's doing anything other than there to neaten the base to suit original knob. Do people tend to take these out and re-cable tidy the gaiter to suit..? mr_smith126
Rubbish, I also just noticed the stubby doesn't quite sit flush with the base... grind some thread off and or rubber washer me thinks...

terry06
Looking good Given me a few ideas for my GT4 and helped me decide to keep the alloys (looks so much better on the Tein's and spacers) I agree that something needs doing with the gaiter. It's only a small thing but would annoy me. Unfortunately I can't advice on what to do as I still have the standard knob but I can't see there being a problem with doing what you suggest. Will keep my eye on the thread!

mr_smith126
Nice one Shezza.. Although I quite like the idea of exploring this: I'm going to have a look at the ring inside the gaiter.. if it's something that can be removed easily, sourcing something like a plastic pulley the same size as the base of the new knob.. basically to re-create what has been done for the OEM knob but smaller to suit new, cable tidy gaiter like existing to create a new diameter creating a seamless transition between the two..... Failing that if there are too many head scratches occur then i'll give Beavis a shout!
mr_smith126
I put some new plates on this weekend.. the old ones had all the advertising gumpf on them. Decided I would try removing the plate holder for a cleaner look.. What do you think..?

veeg33
Definitely looks better without the holder, brought a pair of new plates for front and rear. Got some strong 3M double sided as well.
